I wonder how accurate that segmental analysis is. Do you ever get measurements that aren't symmetrical?
Seems off that they would be exactly the same.

I've been trying for the last week or so to get the Withings Body scale to connect to my iPhone but have given up. It's supposed to generate a QR code but it never comes. Multiple resets etc don't make a difference and it seems to have been a common issue for months.

Logged a ticket with Withings but have heard nothing back.

I had taken out the batteries from my Withings Body Smart and did not use my scale for a couple of months. I also got a new phone so I had to reconnect the scale and I did not have an issue with the QR code. But after the QR code option it should give you an x-digit code to connect. Does it not give this to you?

No, it gets stuck on waiting for the QR code and won't get past this step no matter what I do.

People had found a way to roll back to an old version of the app with TestFlight which seemed to get round the issue but that one has been closed down now.

Good luck with that as most/all smart scales are inaccurate.

I guess can use one's number as a "relative baseline" and track relative to that (ie. see if going up or down), but to say "my BMI is X", a bit wishful imo. Or get a DEXA test, see what scale says that day, see how far off and adjust accordingly from then on to have a relative idea what the real number is.
My impression is BMI fluxuates based on how much water is in you?

BMI is a very simple calculation involving nothing more than height and weight.

One's weight will, obviously, vary on how much water is in you, as water has a weight 😁. So yes, BMI will vary. However, not by much!

Food has a huge impact too for example carbs hold a lot of water. Try drinking a normal amount of water but eat mostly protein, fat and leafy greens and you’ll see an almost immediate reduction in weight as in overnight. Even though you likely did not burn 3500C you will see 1lb reduced right away.

I was thinking in terms of BMI readings.
