I have to praise the iCarbons skin. Absolutely love it. Looks gorgeous and is easy to install with good instructions on their page. Tried a lot of skins including SGP, Zagg a.s.o. But nothing compares to the iCarbons. Also the better grip is a plus! Oh and did I mention that the style is absolutely gorgeous? ;-)

Got my iCarbon one through this morning from international shipping.

Ordered both front and back but will probably leave the front off.

Back is very nice but the corners are a bit... I followed the videos but I think I pushed the wrong bits down first so I have the weird overlapped bits in 3 of the corners.

Tried to heat it a little bit longer on the affected corners to then resmooth, no luck.

Not a big problem as I rarely just run my fingers or hold it via the corners. :)

Very pleased with it overall though! :D Seems like it won't easily come off :)

Just pulled the trigger on the black back only icarbon. Pictures look nice, and wouldn't mind a little more grip. Just hoping the problem with the magnets not sticking as well is not something I notice also as that could be rather annoying problem to have and worry about.

How long did it take for it to arrive??

Hey you all
Do you think icarbon covering the 3G antenna.. would it interfere with 3G signal?

Just checking before buying

Signal not affected

No it doesn't. The only problem is that the Sim Card slot is covered so for inserting cards if you travel, you have to pull it up - but apparently it's doable. Signal not affected at all. I don't have the data plan yet, but I can see from the ATT icon for GPS etc. that I have a much stronger signal than I do with my 3GS. Waiting patiently now for iP5 but happy as can be with iPad2.

I received my skin from here. What appealed to me compared to iCarbons and juststickit is that they are the only ones that offer a skin specifically for 3G iPads that cuts around the antenna and the SIM card.

As you can see in the pics below, around the antenna it overhangs by about 1mm on each side. I've sent him a note because I'm a little bummed about that. Otherwise, I think its a great product.

I'll update the thread on his response.

does it weaken the smart cover when attach to the ipad during use?

To follow up on my skin from octivv, he indicated that it is cut that way on purpose. He was accommodating and will be sending a full skin since I wasn't happy with it.

@philipsony - I don't feel that it's weakened the smart cover's hold on the iPad. In fact, I can still hang it by the smart cover only without the iPad coming detached.

@HazChem - how is the apple logo protected? want to buy it from octivv. Debating about getting the white fiber or brushed alu silver (more expensive)?

how is the quality of the product.. ??

It's protected with a black carbon fiber skin that I asked him to include with the order.

I'm pretty pleased with quality. It looks as good as the other ones posted on this thread.

so the overlapping of the skin onto the black antenna portion was done intentionally?
hmm i am thinking of getting this since it 1/2 of the price of icarbon lol
it does have a cutout for simcard right?

Here are some better pics of the overlap, the SIM card cutout as well as a pic of the contrasting Apple logo carbon fiber skin.

Just got my black icarbons in today (ordered Wednesday) and I must say this thing looks great. The pictures on here do no justice on how it looks and feels on the ipad 2. Bravo icarbons on the product and youtube instructions to make it easy.

The good news

OK, so I failed miserably in applying the PS Anti-Glare film (air bubbles everywhere and when I tried a wet application - smear marks on the film). It looked awful (and in the end I decided I really liked the naked screen - it's so bright and clear where the AG does add a smoky overlay). Sour grapes, perhaps, but I gave up. The good news is that I had removed the front part of the iCarbons (carefully and stuck it onto a piece of the scotch protective material the one for the MBA came on 2 days ago). It reinstalled beautifully. There appears to be a small tear or bump near one corner but it's not troublesome and it's great to have it back on. (I actually did a better job with the home button the second time around.) So should you want to remove yours for some reason and reinstall it - the glass part comes off easily and goes back on easily and well.

iCarbons now has the iPad2 skin with the cut out

iCarbons now has in stock the back for the iPad2 AT&T (or GSM) 3G model with the cutout allowing Sim card access.

Thanks, getting the corners heated up enough to lay down flat was harder than lining it up!

how does 1/16" overlap simplify installation? if anything it complicates it more!

if you would have put it flush, then it would be simple. just sayin'

Anyone who can tell me , if the iPad 2 with carbon skin on the back will fit in the iPad 2 dock ?

i want to order both , but the dock seems to be a very tight fit

Still waiting on my iCarbon skin. Ordered last Friday and got a shipping confirmation with tracking number on Monday. However the tracking is still in the "Electronic Shipping Info Received" phase, so I'm worried that they may not have sent it out yet. :\

I went with a switcheasy case but if anyone is curious i went to a ghost armor kiosk and they had a new carbon fiber back protector that i thought was really awesome. Im not a big fan of carbon fiber but if i didnt have a case i would have installed it in a second. It was unique and really sharp looking. When i went location hunting it wasnt on their site yet. Fyi if it helps. It was a 2 tone with a white ring around the apple logo. Looked different than what others have posted.
