so I've decided on an iCarbon white for my white iPad! Anyone have any coupons/free chipping codes? Seems I missed it by a day and a half...

I have an iCarbon on my MBP. Very nice. The corners needed some blow drying to get them to lay down flat.

put in an order for an icarbon skin earlier today, just got my tracking.

If anyone is interested in the bodyguardz carbon fiber skin I got I'm selling it to cover my cost of the icarbon skin :p $20

Looks great - but question

I agree it looks great - but is it a little bit grippier than the iPad2 back or no difference? (I have somewhat weak fingers, spend a lot of the day in a power wheelchair and things have been known to slide off my lap albeit infrequently - but even once can be bad.) I'm hoping I can find a back that's a bit less smooth, has more grip, and doesn't change the form factor at all. (My iPad2 is spending the weekend in Lantau Island where it's been for awhile (ordered March 11 in the early morn PDT, so I'm asking questions to distract myself and hoping I can be all set for it when it gets here.)

These carbon fiber skins...at least the good reproductions of the real thing tend to have an actual weave texture you can feel. Definitely more grippier than just the bare naked aluminum for sure.

the material they use is described on the icarbons site:

3M DI-Noc / Scotch Print

Do you want a carbon fiber look without the high cost of carbon fiber? The hands-down best alternative in the market is 3M's carbon fiber film. This is a vinyl product which features a carbon textured finish. It's not just a carbon pattern print, this texture resembles the look and feel of dry carbon fiber. The weave even reflects light the same way that carbon fiber would. The back side of the vinyl features 3M Comply Adhesive, the best in the industry. This material can have many uses and here at iCarbons Inc, we thought it best for protecting your electronic investments.

* 8 Mil thick for extreme scratch protection
* Stretchable with heat
* 12 year indoor lifespan and 4 years outdoors
* Water resistant
* Can be cleaned with soap and water

Placed my order for the back only. Missed the free shipping by a couple of days.

Hope it works well with my smart cover. They advertise that it does.

Heading to site to place an order

Thank you Nykwil. Sounds perfect. I hope the application process isn't too tricky but looks like it belongs with my black iPad2 aesthetically. After my most recent (current) experience with Apple's fast free shipping, I won't mind paying for shipping (as much). Just watched the videos - installation seems pretty easy since it's a dry install (no need for water or some other solution). All ordered. Now I can see what reaches me first - iCarbons or Apple.

For the iPad2 3G ATT with Sim tray, does it cover up the Sim Tray area?
not a deal breaker since I've never opened the tray on my iPad1 but still.
Also, I want a black or clear apple decal. I'm calling them tomorrow.
I have a similar skin on my Pad1 and it came with a clear apple decal.

I already tried the black or clear logo insert request. No dice. They did cut one for me without the logo... Theoretically. Should have it Monday.

I received my iCarbon White skin with Black carbon apple logo option. Friday and its beautiful. Here are some pics so some of you may see what it looks like. Goes so well with the white iPad.

Yeah I followed the direction on their site to apply the corners and it worked perfectly. Very easy to install not hard at all.....much easier than a screen shield.

Had it on since Friday and so far no lifting what so ever. For anyone purchasing the skin i recommend following the installation video and it'll turn out perfect. Everyone that have seen it this weekend loves how it compliments the white face.

Looks great! Even though I usually like me iDevices naked, I think I'll pick up a black one of these.
