What is the compelling use case? I mean all the kids are using it to write term papers. Outside of coding I have not seen a need for it.

I would rather have an iPhone Pro mini,

AI isn't available for my 2022 SE, but from what I've read, it doesn't fit my needs at present.

It rarely offers to route to ChatGPT and relies too much on on-device. Why do I already need a picture of a person (especially a celebrity) to generate a silly image in Image Playground? Just kind of defeats the purpose. It's like having an iPhone that can't access the Internet.

16.8% of iPhone owners would consider switching to Samsung if Galaxy AI features proved significantly better.

I can't imagine replacing my entire ecosystem of apps, services, and devices just so I can have a better AI experience elsewhere (especially as who leads now may not be the leader in two years), but people gonna people

Genmoji doesn’t interest me at all, image playground has such heavy restrictions that it’s basically useless for anything interesting.

The notification summaries are actually the most useful and interesting thing for me. Those have genuinely been *useful*.

At this point, I just want Siri to be slightly less brain-damaged. That’s it. That’s all. If Apple can make that happen, yay.

Not surprised, the average user gets no benefits for day to day tasks they do on a smartphone…
“GenAI” is overrated, it’s used to drive the IT and semi industry to the next level… driven by the big consulting firms and Wall Street.

A survey conducted by SellCell, a tech trade-in platform, has revealed that while nearly half of iPhone users—47.6%—consider AI an important factor when purchasing a smartphone, 73% of those who have used Apple's AI offerings feel that the features add little to no value to their experience. This sentiment is not unique to Apple; the study also found that 87% of Samsung users expressed similar dissatisfaction with the AI tools available on Galaxy devices.
Lack of popular AI usage examples not implemented likely the issue. Writing tools is nice, but no SIRI 2, or AI enhanced Safari browser that most use all the time with better web searching. It’s about making the iPhone easier to use on the go, more hands free such as real time spoken language translation between people. Searching maps hands free. Everyone here likely can generate examples of things you don’t have that much time to do using a iPhone, and needs to made easier to accomplish.

Not surprising. Photo editing features seem like they would be the most useful to the average person. I see AI summaries popping up everywhere are they are mostly trash between giving false information, summarizing in a way that misses the point and putting together information in ways that are easily misunderstood. Thus far I have zero interest in any of the Apple Intelligence features listed as they all seem gimmicky and are really only a marketing check box.

It is all pretty bad so far. I still have found zero use for ChatGPT in my life. Image generators mostly suck, and Image Playground is terrible. The notification summaries are, at best, hit or miss.

The only thing I’m really looking forward to is the improved Siri that can do the “when does my mom’s flight arrive?” trick they showed in the keynote. All the rest of it is garbage that I will never use

The email/message/notif summaries are pretty useless. I don't want ChatGPT anything ever, what a waste of time and resources. Image Playground is an ok enough idea but everything has that "generated by AI" look, which stinks. The photo editing stuff is a good idea but in the times I've tried it out it clearly needs a lot of work.

I don't see any compelling uses for any of this (right now). Maybe in a couple of years there'll be something to it worth using but that time is not now.

It’s not available to most iPhone users, despite the constant awful commercials. That alone is a big turnoff.

Also they are all clearly very beta, yet are being heavily promoted. What is this, Google?

The whole thing seems far more desperate than we are used to seeing from Apple. They didn’t want to “miss” AI so they claim to be all about it, but it’s so clearly not ready that it’s having the opposite effect.
