Is anyone else with the Moto X having problems with callers not being able to hear you. Almost every other word I say is being lost due to the noise cancellation feature. I've tested it and narrowed it down to that. If I turn my call volume down low, it works a lot better, though it still occasionally drops a word or two. But when I turn the volume up to where I like it, I can't hold a conversation. If I say Testing 1 2 3 4 5, all the caller can hear is Testing 1 2. If I have the caller mute their phone, they can hear everything I say. It seems like the feedback of my own voice is causing the Moto X to cancel out my voice. I've tested this with four different callers now. No one can hear me.

In addition to that, on my end the sound quality isn't very good. People's voices sound robotic and not clear like my iPhone 5 was. I traded my iPhone in, so I can't get it back. Already regretting the decision to trade.

Edit: Also, it rebooted once on it's own. Last night it was laying on my desk and just turned off and come back on. Anyone else have that happen?

Edit 2: The Moto Assist driving feature keeps kicking on while I'm sitting at my desk. I'm not sure why it thinks I'm driving when I'm sitting still.

I had my Moto X for 7 days and put it through the ringer so to speak. Never did i have any issues with making or receiving voice calls. You might have a defective unit. I would return it......
Oh and the Moto Assist was awesome...it always knew when I was driving and when I was not. It would read any incoming texts or emails to me....... Sounds like you have a bad handset.....it would return it.

How do you like your phone? I've had mine for about 4 days (coming from the 4S) and there's a lot to like.

I loved the MX. It is very nice phone. I love the Active Notifications....I love the always on voice recognition. It was even good enough to respond in my truck with the radio on. It is a very high end premium phone. But in the end i like my S4 better.....

I returned mine today. Maybe it was just a bad unit, but I wasn't happy with it. First, I couldn't adjust to the saturation of colors on the AMOLED screen. I still prefer the saturation of the iPhone LCD. If they had included a feature to adjust the saturation, like Samsung and Nokia does on their phones, that wouldn't have been a problem.

Besides the problems with voice calls, Active Notifications was annoying. Even the slightest movement of the desk it was sitting on caused the screen to turn on. It was constantly turning on showing the lock icon, as if I had picked it up. It was way too sensitive. I liked seeing if I have notifications when I pull it out of my pocket, but otherwise I like the way the iPhone does notifications popping up much better. The information the iPhone shows is much more useful, and I don't have to touch my screen to see it. I found it annoying having to touch the phone to see who a text was from.

I think it's going to be back to the iPhone with the 5S for me.

Sounds like you definitely have a bad unit. Mine hasn't had any of these issues at all. Callers say my voice sounds clearer than it did on my last phone, and say they can't even tell when I'm on speakerphone. I've not had a single reboot, and Moto Assist works beautifully. You should definitely get a different one.

So let me get this straight...you're disappointed because you got the features as they were advertised?

Camera......physical home button....SD card.....
But is was very close........I love the always on voice software. It works great! Even in my car with he radio on it would get directions for me. The battery last the 24 hours as advertised....same as my S4.
I don't see a lot of Devs getting behind the MX. There just isn't a lot of movement around getting it unlocked and the US versions boot loader unlocked and rooted. I think with the right Dev...the MX could really shine with tweaked roms......
If the off contract price goes down I might be temped to get one to have as an extra device....

I decided to try another Moto X, this time on Verizon, and it does the same thing. Every other word cuts out. I can't hold a conversation on this phone. The last one was on AT&T. How is no one else having this problem?

Edit: I found some threads about the same issue on Android Central. I feel a little better knowing I'm not all alone, but still confused why some people are having no problems at all.

Edit: Conversations are fine with a headset. With the speakerphone or using the phone normally too many words are being lost to hold a conversation. My mom said that it sounds like I have a really bad signal, but I have a strong signal and it sounds great if I plug in my headset. Bluetooth in the car has constant popping and cracking. I gave up and returned the second Moto X.

I find this odd because every review I've read of the moto X has raved about the call quality.

Odd. I've had mine for a couple weeks and haven't experienced anything like this. Very unfortunate that you would get two defective units in a row.

I'm really considering giving the Moto X a go now that I know for sure what the iPhone 5S is all about. I'm feeling like the touchless control of the X is sweeter than the fingerprint reader on the 5S.

Is there a Micro SD card slot on the X or am I limited to 16GB?

no SD slot....16Gb or 32GB only.

The camera has almost single-handedly taken this phone off my radar.

And I guess the surprisingly high/competitive price points, too.

There will be a firmware update in the next update so I'm anxious to see what it includes. I was very skepticale about the X when it was released and it has slowly grown on me but until they fix the camera I can't take it seriously.

While I don't find the camera as bad as some people say, I will say there are some oddities to the processing, even from one shot to the next taken in rapid succession. Obviously this camera isn't as good as my S4, but it's definitely useable and workable and a lot of this can be corrected in post.

I took these two yesterday and found the difference between the two striking. These were taken seconds apart, no HDR. But look at the colors in one shot compared to the other. This, to me, says it's a software issue and is fixable via a software update. It's definitely the processing that's causing this and not the hardware.

Wow, KentuckyHouse that is crazy! Once they improve the camera I will definitely be taking the Moto X for a spin.

I'm so bored with the other Android offerings like the S4 and even the HTC One to some extent.
