Regardless of whether any of you think this phone is better than the 4S or not, the 4S is still going to outsell it by a wide margin, and that is fact. Motorolla is not going to sell 4 million of these in the first weekend. This is not an iPhone killer.

I don't see why people feel the need to compare phones so much. Apple is still going to put out the best selling phone pretty much regardless of what other people do, and other companies are still going to put out the better spec'd out phone. Just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.

Apple iPhone won't be on top forever. The influx of android phones positively correlates to the rising % of android users. Bionic, GS2, Droid Razr and the future Nexus Prime, top tier phones are going to cut in to iPhones marketshare.

Just like Windows, consumers like choice which is how Windows still has an 80% marketshare.

You're right...the iPhone 4S is a bloated fatty.

The 4/4S is perfectly proportioned and has a nice weight to it. All these super light extremely thin phones give me the urge to throw it like a frisbee. I hope Apple doesn't go the super light & super thin route for the 5.

First time I heard that ....... :p

So..people shouldn't compare and just accept that Apple will be the number one player in this market forever ?

Comparisons are good, they make people think. It's made me think long and hard about why I put down an order for a 4S without even using one properly. Or why up until now I've written off Android devices without really giving them a chance. Whether or not Motorola sell a bunch of these or not, the RAZR will help the market evolve. Ultimately people might not even like using the RAZR, but only with spec comparisons will the minority consider one, and who knows maybe a few people will buy one and be perfectly happy with it.;)

I don't think Apple makes the best phone, but I do think combined with iOS Apple offers the best experience. Comparing specs on a phone is ultimately less important than comparing user experience IMO. Even though there are certainly many Android phones with better specs, the average consumer still cares about user experience over the power of the hardware.

I disagree they'll cut into the iPhone's marketshare. Right now the smartphone market is rapidly growing, with both Android and iOS expanding. Once it hits it peak like the PC market, that's when deflectors from one OS to the other will start to shape the market. A lot of people buying smartphones right now are still buying their very first smartphone ever.

Not really 20 minutes, but I couldn't go more than 8 hours on a single charge, and that was not enough for me to leave the house and come back from work

Applefanboyish to English

Because Apple couldn't engineer LTE into their phone while keeping it thin Like Motorola and Samsung have done it sucks. I will probably be flipping my lid over it when it comes in the iPhone 5, but for now it's overrated because Apple didn't adopt it.

Exactly. Things like a larger screen or 4G LTE support are bad only because the iPhone doesn't have them yet. I'm not sure how a smaller screen and 3G (Especially in the Verizon and Sprint worlds) is better then 4G, but I guess it is because Apple says so.

So why are the fandroids not up in arms about a non-replaceable battery in the RAZR and no SD storage in the Prime? Besides having "outdated hardware" the iPhone is always bashed for not having a replaceable battery and no SD card slot.

I've seen complaints on Android centric sites and social networks about both of these points. Perhaps your rage at "fandroids" is blinding you?

"Yea, no sd slot means I will be looking at the droid charge for my jump to lte"

"Say it ain't so Samsung/Google! Tell us it'll have a SDXD slot for 96GB+ on this new wonder phone!! But I fear they want the same control over the files on your phone as Apple does. Why was a SD slot dropped from the Nexus S?? Had to be deliberate."

"Engadget hands-on review confirms no sd card slot. 4th paragraph, last sentence. Bummer."

What more do you want?

Are you kidding? Lots of people on various Android forums are complaining about the battery.and this is the first I've heard about no SD card slot

Whatever happened to all those "iPod Killers"...

Motorola has already announced the RAZR will get ICS sometime in early 2012. So that brand new, top of the line phone, will be about 2-4 months behind the prime right out of the gate. Tell me again why somebody would buy this phone?
Well I personally don't need to have the latest and greatest device the moment it's released. I was planning on getting the Droid RAZR in early 2012 anyway.

By that time the price will drop, accessory options will be abundant, and ICS will (soon) be available.

Why? Because you can clearly see that the RAZR is a better built piece of hardware then the Nexus Galaxy. One is stainless steel with kevlar and includes a water resistant coating. The other one is black plastic. The RAZR also has a better camera. Also for a lot of people the 4.3" screen is big enough to pocket. The Samsung appears to be a pretty big phone at 4.6". I look at it this way... Software can and will be updated, but you are stuck with the hardware you buy.

People will chose either phone for whatever reason and some might even chose the Bionic since you know it will be priced less, however offer just about the same capability. It all comes down to what the customer values and even though you value having the latest software more the next person might value a handset built with better materials.

Meh, the RAZR brand was innovative becuause it was the first cell phone that looked "cool".

Now it is just a thinner droid bionic.

Motoactv looks cool though, apple should have jumped on the nano watch with GPS since iPhone has Bluetooth 4.0 now.

Sorry I've been spending so much time here and not on Androidforums since moving to the iPhone.

I was looking at the comparison pictures posted on engadget.com and I must say that phone is too big IMO. I would have a hard time walking around with that in my pocket it seems. The phone looks like a remote for a tv. There comes a point when some thing is too big for a phone and this phone seems to be just that too big. Yea its thin on one side were the CDMA antenna is but the bump on the end where the camera is well not a great form factor. Stick a case on that thing and then tell me how thin it is and how great it would feel in your hand and in your pocket. I'm not impressed.
i wish it were smaller too.
