Mouse not smooth

Hi all,
My mac mouse is not smooth, especially at low speed. It's like jerky and very annoying. I've tried playing around with the mouse settings but doesn't seem to fix this jerkiness. OS I'm using is 10.5.8.

I tried using the mac mouse on my windows laptop & it works fine. I also face this jerkiness problem when I plug in other brand mouse on my mac book. Have tried both the USB ports on my mac book.

Anyone with similar issue? Appreciate if someone can provide me with a solution.

it's a laser mouse. I don't think there's anything wrong with the mouse as I have tested it on other systems & it's working fine.

U talking about the Mighty Mouse? Turn the mouse and computer off and then on and see if that helps it.

Yes, the mighty mouse (wired). Do you mean to reboot my mac book? How do I turn off the mouse? Cos it's wired & power it gets is from the MacBook's USB port. I don't power on the MacBook 24hrs.
