I have to admit…I loaded it on my iPad Pro 12.9” M1, and it is really getting there…finally free floating windows. I toned down the glass stuff in Accessibility…
I actually really like it. The beta is still a bit laggy for me though so I'm not swapping my sim to my 16PM, but it's definitely an improvement overall. Still prefer OneUI 7 and Pixel but I don't hate iOS 26 like many do.

Honestly, I really liked what I saw at the WWDC.

I have the beta installed, and let's see, it's beta 1 and it's regular (although I notice it better than the first day), but the new design seems impressive to me. I love the transparent view and how you can see the reflections with respect to the background.

There are things that have to be polished and detailed (animations, heating, battery, the control center...) but the changes and the new design are a good starting point.

I switch around every few years. With phones I have had 7 Androids and 6 Iphones. I get bored with the OS's after awhile and start missing the other so I switch. I like iOS and Android equally. With computers I have been really fed up with Windows for about ten years and last year I finally switched to Mac and I really enjoy it. I plan to take my Windows10 laptop and install Linux or something else on it so I can keep using the hardware.

Whenever I see the discussion about switching away from iPhone/Apple you always see some people say "I tried that once and came running back to Apple!!!". I question if they really did ever leave Apple in the first place because using a flagship Android phone is really an awesome experience. Its either that or they are tech illiterate (as most of Apple's customers are I have realized over the years). Android's on screen navigation bar is the best navigation system I have ever used for mobile devices, nothing else comes close to it at all.

The Pixel 8 Pro is the first time I’ve chosen to try an Android phone, and it’s become my favourite device by far. I still have my iPhone, but it’s no longer my daily driver.

Completely agree with you on Windows. I’m stuck using Windows 11 at work, and every update seems to add more clutter or restriction. I especially don't like how Microsoft are forcing Copilot into everything.

I'm really curious to see what Android 16’s upcoming desktop mode brings. I’m hoping I can push the Pixel even further and see just how close it can get to replacing a traditional computing setup.
