An independent password/secret manager with End to End Encryption (E2EE) and external security audit is important for online security.
Right now I consider 1password and Bitwarden as suitable candidates and I am using the former. Bitwarden has free plan but lacks 2 factor authentication (2FA) in that plan and I think paying a little (for me at least) for the added security and convenience is worth it.

I wasn’t even aware Mozilla had a stand-alone password manager. I might of tried it if I knew. Oh well.
It wasn’t that great. You can’t add new logins directly to it or even edit logins in the app. I use firefox for work and I put Lockwise on my personal phone so I had access to passwords in case I needed them.
it’s a moot point now that I have 1Password on my work computer.

Beyond your very valid point, it’s always worked quite slowly to me; a stark contrast to iCloud Keychain or even Google’s Chrome-embedded password manager.
