As an aside, I would love for Apple to release Safari on tvOS...
Me too, but I don't think they want to open that can of worms.

Actually it seems the iOS firefox is using Webkit

Ah, given this bit from that link:

Due to iOS security restrictions chosen by Apple (specifically the inability to set writable pages executable, which is essential for just-in-time compilation), Firefox has to use the built-in iOS WebKit-based rendering framework instead of Gecko.

I'm just as happy to have Apple keep that restriction in place.

I <3 Firefox don't ask me why
But for me its my primary web browser in all my devices..
But is not faster!! I am not in a hurry...
But it consumes a lot of Ram! And?

Came

Is Firefox still a thing?

I've long transitioned over to Google on my Mac, and use Safari on my iPhone.
It all depends on how much information you want to funnel into Google.

Some people don't. They go with other vendors such as Apple and Mozilla that have a history, and culture around protecting privacy.

Others don't care, and lean toward Google, Chrome, Facebook, and Android.

Thank god there is still a browser that isn't developed by a mega corporation that makes its money through large-scale data mining and surveillance. Firefox is still my browser of choice primarily because it runs on all major platforms including Linux. I also like their Sync service, which is the only one that respects your privacy (uses client-side end-to-end encryption for bookmarks and tabs).

So it looks like the bookmark manager is basically Pocket? That's my only issue, but I use Bookmark OS so it doesn't really matter

Uhm, no. Pocket is not a bookmark manager. You can use Firefox Sync to sync bookmarks and open tabs between multiple instances of Firefox. In contrast to the equivalents from Google and Apple they are encrypted in a way that nobody but you can see them.

Personally I'd be wary of using something like the free version of BookmarkOS. You can be certain that they are monetizing your data.

I support open source software especially against companies like Google that thrive on collecting your info. I really feel like in the future it will come to bite you. Just think what can someone do with 10 years or more of reading your search inquiries, browsing history, and emails.

DuckduckGo.com for search, protonmail for mail, and firefox for browsing
