I especially like that 4/7 S.I. writers, FOX and ESPN (who cares what they think) don't see Memphis making it past 2nd Round Creighton/Nevada in to the Sweet Sixteen (South).

uhhh... cause they played a cake schedule all season and didn't beat anybody. they have an inflated record and a ridiculous seed.

You people scare me, just randomly picking might screw the ones that are thinking hard about this.

How so? I mean, we are doing this for fun (at least some of us are). Anyway, I've never been good at picking the Cinderella team(s) - or the ones that go deep into the tournament, anyway. But I do have some 11's over 6's and I think I picked all the 9's in the first round.

It's called March Madness for a reason, though. ;) Anything can happen, even a totally random, out of left field (err, metaphorically speaking) bracket.

Yup. I hope that's how their opponents think, too. 30-3 inflated record with a 17 point win over wusses like Kentucky and Gonzaga, away. They've gotten better, and coach C is a class act.

They played in the Conference ranked 11th based on RPI. The Kentucky win was in the very begining of the season. I think we can all agree that Kentucky is a much improved team. The Gonzaga win took overtime.

;-)

Who knows, thats why they play the games... but I didn't have Memphis going very far...

Calipari and others think Memphis have improved, as well. But it's agreed, that's why they play the game. Time will out, though 1400+ AP votes and 693 Coaches consider the Tigers good enough to be ranked #5, so their 2nd seed isn't at all ridiculous as you suggest.

I'm still wondering just how good several teams are who are peaking at the right time. Georgetown is another one to consider.

I think Georgetown might go all the way.
It's good we still have another day to tweak our brackets. There are a couple or three slots I've changed, already. Guessing how far the Hoyas will go is one of them. And in the early rounds, I think the Creighton/Nevada game will be a good one to watch, and it wouldn't surprise that many if a #10 beats a #7.

My Spartans have a tough road ahead, but we shall overcome.
They have a good chance getting by Marquette in the first round game, since Jerel McNeal will sit out with an injury. If they do, they'll face North Carolina, next. That's a different story.

Good chance if James has an off day. James has an off-day, everyone has an off-day.

Except for Ousmane Barro....he always has an off-day. ;)

Alright, I'm in. I never feel good about my ability to predict these things, but it's always a fun time to chat about the results.

What, less than 20 hours left? Bring it on. :D

I'm done with messin' with it (bracket). It is what it is. Although, there is that one game the first round........ :D Other than inciting voodoo and encantations over the first round, I did opt for a couple of #12 seeds to surprise some #5s. That's what makes it so fun.....unless they lose.

Anyway, good luck to everyone......except the thedude110 and MacNut. :p :)

I'm also in...still trying to figure out how to pick Niagara in the play-in game. ;)

I'm not predicting a whole lot of upsets this year...we'll see.

Alright, I'm in.

Excellent.

Here's the championship 'tar from last year. Could you update it, emw? Would do it, but am useless in said capacity.

We've got ten in the pool at the moment. Any late takers? Still got 16 hours to pencil in those brackets ...

:)

I went ahead and modified it. This should be fine in terms of size, but since mods have higher size limits, I can't check it for myself. Could someone do a quick check to make sure it'll work?

Game on.

Total of 28 players. So far, I'm 3-0. But those were the easy picks. :)

Me too. I picked the Davidson upset in another contest I'm in (and thought I might just get it right when they went up by eight early in the second half), but my MR bracket is in good shape in the early running.

Georgetown is finally finding its game, Butler/ODU is going to be a nail bitter, I split them on the 2 brackets Im playing in the family pool. So far Im 3-0 but its gonna be a close call as the day goes on.
