Ah, stupid Duke. Oh well. I don't think I've ever escaped the first day with my bracket totally intact, anyway. At least I didn't pick Duke to go past the second round.

I had VCU beating Duke today (might be the only game I called right all day). I saw VCU beat George Mason in the CAA title game and they looked feisty then, figured they could give an over-rated Duke team a challenge, even with the biased officiating.
I'm 15-1. Anyway, I don't think I'm going to do this well tomorrow. I was just looking at my bracket, and I played it safe with my day 1 picks, while I've got a number of upsets lined up for tomorrow (as well as a few homer picks that probably weren't very smart).

9-7. i suck. i picked a bunch of upsets that didn't happen.
i did pick vcu over duke though.
just to let you know, my day one last year was terrible, yet i won my group. i'm hoping kansas provides us with the biggest upset ever!!! i have them losing tomorrow.
only one of my sweet 16 lost. so i'm still good in the long haul.

the question is... is VCU that good, or is Duke that bad? Do you think VCU could be this years "George Mason"?
I don't know that there is a "George Mason" among this years group. Of course, we won't know for sure for a few more days. Usually, there's at least one surprise team in the sweet sixteen, but to do what Mason did - being a double-digit seed and making the final four? I just don't see it happening two years in a row. I kinda hope I'm wrong - even though it would totally ruin my bracket, I love crazy stories.
Duke was overrated this year, I think. They haven't played well for many stretches this year, and I almost picked them to lose. Guess I should have. As for VCU - they've played well, and could give Pitt a run, but I don't think they'll make the Final Four.

14-2, so I'm pretty happy. Of those 98, at least 1 was from our group - and all of them probably didn't get around to filling out their brackets after registering.I'm going to bed with the consolation that out of 1,852,505 people who submitted brackets today, 98 of them are 0-16.

Memphis will be okay. I'm worried about GT, since that was an upset I picked...
Could be a long day for my bracket, though.
I was thinking GT would make this more of a game then it has been.
I would not be surprised if Memphis goes down, of course I picked N Tex on the other bracket.
