MS Word on Mavericks?

Ah, so previously you were running some version of Mavericks prior to 10.9.5, or at least 10.9.5 without all the security updates installed?

I'm still surprised Word outright crashed, you'd think something like that would have been well-documented from when Mavericks was current.

Yes, you’re right. I can’t remember now where I got my copy of 10.9.5 but it clearly needed updating. When I get a minute I’m going to download another copy using the instructions you provided on your website as a backup.
