I don't understand, what's it do? I'm guessing it goes out to like Hotmail or something, logs in, strips out the email, and feeds them to an email client on your computer?

Cool! I'd never considered that a program like that could even exist! Still, long term I want to move away from Hotmail (since it's Microsoft), but this might be a neat short term thing.

It's funny cause when I first switched to Mac's, I looked for an app like that for ages since I had hotmail. I finally got gmail and now I wouldn't go back for anything.

I use HTTPmail, and I set this up for my parents too. However, for about the last month I have had real problems accessing hotmail through Mail. Most of the time I can't retreive or send mail so end up opening Hotmail anyway, and often it is hit or miss whether I can get this open as well. I set up a gmail account and have had no problems with this so I will start to switch everything accross to gmail. As far as i know my parents have had no problems with HTTPmail and Hotmail.

I need to test when I return to the UK, but I suspect the main problem is because I have to use dial-up and operate through the mother of all firewalls here in Saudi. At certain times of the day I have to wait 20 minutes just to open one page because of the way internet access is set up here, all connections go through a central, heavily controlled location. I am not entirely sure, but is seems like the authorities "sweep" users and certain times and this really slows things down.

Slightly off topic, but I also have problems with Skype, maily because of bandwidth, but a colleague recommended using Yahoo VOIP app, he said he had no problems with this, so I went to download it only to be faced with a page saying how lucky I was to be using a MAC, and that the app wasn't available for Mac yet!
