how does it tell if you are corporate users? what if you just select corporate users during first run?

A "corporate user" account is an IM account on a corporate server that has Live Communication Server 2005 or Office Communication Server 2007. Messenger: Mac 7 dropped support for LCS 2005 (which my company uses), so I'll be sticking with 6.0.3 for a long time.

Because it requires server software installed on a "local" system you can't fake a corporate account. They also use different protocols than the Internet/free IM servers.

so there's still no offline messaging...man ICQ had that 10 years ago!

what's the purpose of this update??!? What is new??

A big shout out to the Mac BU for this MINOR update. :apple:
I agree completely. They should have called this version 6.1 . Somehow, I think Mercury Messenger just might be able to provide a somewhat decent webcam experience before Microsoft Messenger for Mac. Sure, Mercury currently has no audio support on Mac and their webcam support isn't so good, but at least it's better than the lack of pretty much anything. How did MSN for Mac just get released yesterday and still lack about 70% of the features that Windows Live Messenger has had for years? This is ridiculous. Until they make it up to par, I'll just keep using Mercury, even if it uses Java and is a RAM hog.

Very poor. They spend at least half a year adding a single major new feature?!

What is your secret? When I try to send OIMs, Messenger for Mac tells me it can't be done, and I must use e-mail to communicate.

You definitely on version 7?

I had Office 2008 installed, and the Mac Messenger in the Dock is located under Office 2008, not stand-alone in the Applications folder.

Just looked at the Microsoft Messenger help application. Specifically the What's new in Microsoft Messenger section. It lists these three things
Nicknames - Adium has had this feature for ages.
Search contacts - Almost completely useless.
Bonjour - Adium has had this feature for ages.
When Microsoft bring forward features that other IMs don't have I will switch back from Adium.

Although the new interface isn't too bad (I rather like it), the new application icon doesn't really fit with the rest of the Leopard interface but it follows Microsofts current application icon design, which isn't the most unpleasant thing that could happen.

Since only a couple of people I know use webcams it's not a big disappointment for me. The biggest disappointment is that there is still no offline messaging. I will be using the send feedback about Messenger option in the help menu and I suggest the everyone else here does also.

Why are people saying there is no offline messaging!

There is!

I seem to be able to now, when I first tried it, it wouldn't send.

I have also just tried to change my display picture, IT WON'T LET ME!! Not even to one of the Microsoft built in ones. Again here I go using the send feedback page. When trying to change to the built in ones the window won't close when I select OK and when I try to use my own I get the message: The selected file could not be imported to use as your display picture. Please be sure that the file is a valid picture format.
Tried both gif and jpg file types.

This release is starting to feel like a beta release.

btw is anyone else's notification on msn when ppl come online messed up? Mine looks distorted....it was fine yesterday

I was just looking into Yahoo messenger, and I don't know if i misread, but yahoo msg has webcam capabilities. I know through yahoo msg were able to chat with MSN account holders, but its too bad I can't login with my MSN account cause i don't want to set up a brand new yahoo account and add all my MSN contacts (plus my MSN account has been active for years).

So whats up with MS, even Yahoo is more up to date!!! I hope MS don't buyout Yahoo!!!

This is Bullsh*t!
