Yahoo can't do webcam to MSN Messenger users, only to other Yahoo users.

Then why don't you use Skype for video as well? It works great regardless of whether it's a Mac or a PC at the other end.

Isn't the most clean app out there, and you have to "phone" people in order for webcam to work.

It isn't as joint together as Windows Live Messenger. I like having the webcam video attached to the conversation - if you are video chatting to a few people, then it keeps it cluster free and clean.

Hi all

Don't know if you know that 'Amsn' works and has video? Free from

:D

Congratulations on not reading the whole thread.

And Edit: Why don't you just use Fusion + WML 7?

Why don't you just use Fusion + WML 7?

I have used wlm in this method, I cannot get the isight working tho, i used the mac disks to install the driver and it still dosent appear to detect it. I ended up with alot of stuff in Add/Remove and saw the driver was installed there.

It would be very handy for me to get this working correctly. Any help peeps?

Its not that i want to use XP in OSX more i currently have to until Garmin release a satisfactory mapping application.

fact is, we shouldnt have to have a copy of fusion and windows, or install windows just to see the contact we're talking to on MSN.

Microsoft have proved they can integrate video into MSN for Mac with giving it to business users in this version, why aren't they giving it to the regular consumer?

I see what you're saying but WLM is better than no WLM. The saying could go for a lot of things..

Attention!

I thought it would be a good idea to get a good number of people to send in a feedback form to the Microsoft Mac Team regarding Messenger 7 with reference to Video features for only corporate customers. I have already given them some feedback about the period between the two updates and how little the product has improved. I have highlighted the major difference in league compared to the Mac and Windows version. I have expressed my disappointment at this minor update after the period of time they've had between this release and the previous 6.0.3 release.

I think the only way they will reverse the unacceptable decision of Video for corporate customers only is if they get a lot of negative feedback about the product.

I completely agree with you. The only way to get them to reverse this decision is to create an overwhelming negative response to their decision regarding Video for corporate customers.

my anger suggestion is sent to them.. it truely is disappointing. Apple have had iSights for around 4 years now. To still not provide a version capable of using them is rubbish

Messenger 7 connection problem

Hello,

desperatly, I post on this forum.
Messenger 6,03 don't want to connect, message : "service is not available or you don't have Internet access".

Of course Internet connection does works. So I tried to upgrade to MSN 7 but still don't work.

I've verified my proxy and firewall settings but when all securities are deactivate, MSN don't still connect.

Anybody have an idea ?

Thanks so much

I sent my complaint. Hopefully they actually listen to us if enough people send in feedback. But it's Microsoft, so I don't think they're going to do that.

Did you get an error code? If so, can you google it or post it?

Just installed Messenger 7, and there are absolutely little changes! When do we get a decent Messenger at last?

Messenger:
+ custom emoticons
- no video
- no tabs

Adium:
+ Beautiful, compact, no-nonsense
- no video
- slow transfers
- no custom emoticons
- no group support (can receive messages, but not send)

Mercury:
+ Every feature you need
- Ugly
- Slow

aMSN
- tried it once, and was very unsatisfied
+ I see they have tabs, grouped chat, video, and custom emoticons. So I'm downloading now to give it an other try.

Google Adium X, if you have firefox just type adium in the address bar.. download, and think "wow, microsoft must really hate macs".

- no custom emoticons

You can download sets from Adium that people have already made, but no you can't have custom ones for an character combination. I don't miss it one bit.

- no group support (can receive messages, but not send)

I have been able to send and receive messages with multiple people.
Just right click a user and click "Initiate Multi-User chat" and add other users.
