An inventory of his estate filed this week with a Minnesota Court is giving a glimpse into the star's personal fortune.

According to the legal documents, the "Purple Rain" star had real estate holdings valued at more than $25 million, about $110,000 and personal property in the form of 67 10 ounce gold bars valued at more than $836,000.

More than $1.3 million is also listed as "cash on hand" from his NPG Music Publishing company.

I'm glad he managed his funds wisely even after the Sony Music Productions fiasco that led to "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince".

He was as much a genius in music as he was about how the industry and the fans operated and wanted the love of performances and music. Definitely a pedastal for others to match.

I just think it was time that God wanted a better conductor and writer of music and real guitarist inside the Pearly Gates and called him right on up.

oh ... mind blown ... I'm just discovering more of this musician genius. This guy put in work REAL WORK!

One of my favorite artists and collaborations that I found out just 1 year afer her debut, had HUGE deeper musical influences in her own family and she's WELL respected throughout music is Sheila E.

Sheila E was convinced by prince to produce and collaborate on her very FIRST album. She was already a HUGE great in her own right as a percussionist ... her God-father the Late Great Tito Puentes! Yet Prince wrote 2 songs for her, they toured together (along with her sister) and performed her son together as well. The respect and love between the two as musicians and friends went just that (nothing sexual) and that is a sign of great reserve. (we know prince and Apoloania, lol)

I grew up on Funk, Disco and Motown/R&B as a child before expanding on my own choices of music. I just found out one of prince's original song's of 1979 was redone for Chaka Khan "I Feel For You (1984)" - featuring Melly Mel (I LOVE THIS TRACK)

Supa, rarely are remakes of songs as good as the original. I believe Prince's version of this song is as good as the original. I'll just say excuse the video as it is somewhat 'dated' and well..its all about the music.

I'll put this remake and also Prince's solo saluting George Harrison (While My Guitar Gently Weeps) as best examples of what happens when someone talented gets their hands on other works and gives "add value."
