The Music interface is terrible.
Came here to inquire about the same. I have a desktop headphone rig and connect directly to a DAC via USB-C port. I am currently using an App Store app called Colibri (it's fine...) in this setup.Does Music finally do automatic bit-rate switching in Tahoe or does one still need to go into the Audio MIDI settings?
I've been on this since upgrading to Sequoia, where I discovered that when adding AIFF files to my library (99% of my library is my own files), Sound Check completely ignores what it should be adjusting the files by to normalize the audio level. WAV, MP3, etc all work just fine, it's only AIFF that was a problem. Is it just me, or do Apple Music tracks sound a lot louder on Tahoe? Is Sound Check (volume normalization) function not working, or is the default volume of Music app simply much higher? I need to set the volume to about 50–60 percent of what I used on Sequoia to get the same level.
Not to mention it's still extremely buggy. All their time is probably spent on navigating the UI mess created by Liquid Glass. Can't believe this UI ships in a week or so.
wow, this is not good! are these albums from another source than apple? Can't believe this UI ships in a week or so.

Crossfade / Automix does not work if Lossless playback is enabled
Please any update how is it managing local files on the app? I plan on updating to Tahoe but am afraid of many bugs, where I might not be able to transfer my aiff files with my custom artwork to Apple Music without it causing issues, or any syncing issues? Is it the same as Sequoia was?I've been on this since upgrading to Sequoia, where I discovered that when adding AIFF files to my library (99% of my library is my own files), Sound Check completely ignores what it should be adjusting the files by to normalize the audio level. Anyway... playing back the cloud files from my library seems to be off by exactly what the volume is listed in the Get Info option, under the File tab. If a track is -8dB, then it's playing back at -8dB below the expected normalization level of -16 LUFS-i. In this case, the playback is -24 LUFS-i! I also have found tracks listed at -3dB, and the playback level is -19 LUFS-i, so the chunk that's being added to the file to note that volume isn't being handled properly, but at least it's being handled at all in Tahoe Public Beta 3.
I haven't noticed anything playing back too loud yet, but I will peruse my library and see what else could be behaving oddly.
I will find out soon enough, my Music source is from an external ssd drive as my fingers are crossed! Please any update how is it managing local files on the app?
