Some unusual choices (made me wonder what tier system you were using). I have not heard much good about Starfox, and I hated the SNES verson. Interesting...

*shrug* tiers were just what I thought grouped well together based on how much I liked them. T1M&L: PiT and MK I don't think are odd choices. I can see people not liking Starfox, but I hadn't played any of those in a long time and really enjoyed them when I did, liked this one as well. Plus it had online dog fights, which I love. Would have put Zelda here too, but OP already had it. T2Advance Wars was/is fun, haven't had enough time to finish it and didn't captivate me enough to not put it down so I'm not ranking it any higher. Contra 4 was straight old school and hard as hell so I loved it. Kirby/Nano were just fun. NSMB was good, but short and I didn't like some of it, such as building up momentum to run fast, the rate didn't feel right and I just don't like that in general. Layton was puzzles which I like and keeps giving out new ones, plus a neat style. T3Bomberland, well, I just love bomberman. Hotel had a fun style, though on second thought would probably lower it to T4. Metroids are fun, but this one just didn't captivate me. Was fun, though. Yoshi was also fun when I first got the DS, but didn't have a ton to it so lowered it. T4LiB was creative and different, so I liked, but had some annoying things and didn't hold my attention so low. PQ was fun but not much to it so low. WW:T I liked but only in short, short bursts. Couldn't stay with it.

So, hope that clears it up :)

Well I'm gonna have to revive this old thread due to school and whatnot, I was too busy to buy a new ds game, but now I am back and ready to kill some time! I think I've narrowed it down to Castlevania DoS, Age of Empires and Final Fantasy Tactics A2. I've also heard the new game, Moon is good. ANyone play it? After reading IGN reviews, I'm leaning towards Castlevania because I like that genre of game more. Probly will go to Gamestop tomorrow and see what the used prices are/ask the employee what he thinks

Ohhh yes. Castlevania Order of Ecclesia is probably going to be my 2009 GOTY. It's got depth, variety, much more exploration than previous Castlevania games. Absolutely outstanding game.
Of note DoS was definitely in my Top 5. PoR was nowhere. It's a great return to form and I cannot recommend it enough.

new super mario brothers is to easy to be worth the buy. he will beat it in 2 days.

Contra, a legendary game is so hard it will just piss him off.

castlevania seems like a good happy medium

yeah I'm leaning tpwards castlevania. I hope I can find a good used price on it. Thanks for the replies everyone

Castlevania is an amazing game, any of the three games are great, Order of Ecclesia is the most recent one and the most difficult as well if that matters to you.

I must get ONE of the Castlevanias at least. Yip.

Chrono Trigger
arrived. I am going to give the game a chance, but it does seem a bit TOO much like an old SNES game at the moment. (Never played the original, however). We shall see... As it stands, I doubt it will replace World Ends With You in the battle for my affections.

How did you have miss any of the Castlevanias?

I never played the old Chrono Trigger for any serious amount of time, so I'm planning on getting it someday. I didn't complete Zelda:LttP until I played it on my DS and I had owned it for the SNES.

I LOVED the SNES Zelda (perhaps the best one; either that or the original Game Boy one).

Battles in Chrono Trigger are becoming a chore, but it took me time to develop a healthy World Ends With You obsession, so I hope this one grows on me.

And Castlevania? I never got round to buying any of 'em.

Same with Castlevania. Just . . . never got around to them. Now I have tons of games that I like and are unfinished (no time) so I feel bad buying another one. Even still, I popped by a store to just see the price of the original, thought I'd get it anyway if it was cheap, but they didn't have it . . .
