I contacted MVC, and they agreed to try a Gigabyte AORUS Radeon RX 580. I'm drop shipping it to them. At this point I really don't give a darn about the expense, as long as I can move to Mojave and stop my daily search for Nvidia drivers.

How is the lack of boot screen preventing you from running Mojave? I solved the boot screen problem differently. I now have 3 cards in expansion chassis and 2 screens. 2 of them (Nvidia Kepler) have boot screen and the RX-580 does not. But I can run Mojave and Catalina and Windows with this setup.

^^^^It's not, but having an Nvidia GTX 1080 is. And I PREFER a boot screen. I do not want an expansion chassis.

It’s quite impossible, once they give out a ROM that can be self flash onto the card. There will be no control of the ROM, and most likely will be widely available on the net in few days.
I also believe the back and forth international shipping is expensive. However, in this case, it’s necessary to protect their work.
Of course, I assume they developed a ROM that can’t be flashed on a normal RX580. And must need to solder a new chip. Otherwise, the ROM will be dumped, and flash onto other cards.
Lots of RX580 has dual ROM design, plenty of guys out there will be willing to try that dumped ROM without worrying to brick their card.
In fact, even the dumped ROM can only provide boot screen, but can’t be function properly in macOS (if flash on a normal RX580), it’s still good enough for most free rider. Because we can flip the switch to get boot screen only under emergency. So simple, and rarely need it anyway.
So, they have to be very careful on how to protect their own work.
His ROMs already get pirated. Unless he’s devised some brilliant new copy protection he’s only hurting his paying customers.

At $350, it's more than I need to be "sinking" into the MP5,1 right now. Have an RX580 without boot screens and an authentic GTX 680 Mac Edition on standby whenever it's needed (Mojave compatible). Good luck to anyone who purchases, please update this thread when you receive.
