And your point is? How much do you think it costs them to make this HDMI to mini display port in factories in China? $5? $7?

It's wrong to have a 2,000%+ profit margin simply because you know you have no competition!

Still highway robbery as far as I'm concerned!

My point is simple. You said
$149 for a cheap DVI adapter???
It's NOT a DVI adaptor. I think you should read carefully before making any sensational comment. Let me say this again, HDMI to mini display port convertor is DIFFERENT than a DVI adaptor. You can actually get a DVI adaptor as cheap as $8.41 with 4.5 rating on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-F...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266206371&sr=8-4

I think if you read this forum carefully, you will also see a picture of it. Hope this helps you understand what is going on here in this forum. Also, you should read what others responded to your comments.

By the way, I really like this by Music_Producer "Well why don't you launch your own company, sign a contract with a manufacturer in China.. send them your design, etc - and come up with the same thing that you can sell for $30? You have an immediate and a massive customer base right here, on these forums."

I will be an eager buyer too! I will pay even more than $30, what about $60? It's twice as much. You will be making more profit and more competition in the market!

FloTV - Live Television on Your iPhone

Hmmm....OK, for live events this might be good to catch if you are out and about. But really? Appointment TV is all but dead these days. Nobody actually watches shows when they air do they? Even people I know who are at home when their favorite shows are on will wait until the show has buffered on their DVR's to skip the commercials. And most other people just catch whatever it is they want to see on the net.

So yeah, to catch something live as it's happening on this "Live TV" device could be really cool, but seeing regular old TV shows at a specific time with commercials on a phone just seems kinda lame in 2010.

Only exception for me is sporting events. BBall, Football etc.. When possible I enjoy watching them live so I don't end up flippin to ESPN and seeing the final score or a buddy sending me a text "...... they won!!" arg! Other than that, no real need to.

FloTV was interesting to me until Slingplayer showed up on 3g. Now FloTV is pointless. No need to pay monthly fee just because it's on my portable device. FloTV charges 15/mo, plus whatever the case will be. Slingbox is a one time purchase, no monthly fee and watch all the channels you have at home plus DVR content as well. Not to mention Slingbox Pro will allow 4 different devices, so access to play a movie from your media server, live TV via your reciever etc..

iplayback

So does the I playback push audio through the mini displayport or is there another audio cable that has to be attached to the imac? It would be cool if they figured out how to get audio through the mac's MDP, then maybe they could reverse it and do it for their DP to HDMI adaptors!
