Well the U-socket is kind of cool but can it deliver the higher power that USB 3.0 can? I don't want to install power outlets that are going to be outdated in less then a year.

If I had to change these out every year I'd consider it money well spent. As it is, I have so many iPods and phones that these will probably serve us well for a few years.

Doesn't apple own the patent for touch capacity gloves? I thought i saw that a few years back.

When I would go snowboarding and didn't want to remove my gloves I would just use my nose lol

Bread works too!

So those gloves start at $99 - I think I'll stick to my Pepperami! :) The Koreans know where the technology is going and spending hundred bucks for a pair of gloves is not it. At least I will be able to eat my stylus. How about that?

Like minds seeing something great here.

Wow... That U-Socket is a freaking amazing idea. I'm seriously considering snagging a couple!

FastMac really has something here if the quality is there. That is a big if as the quality of electrical hardware varies widely in general. I like the idea that they purposefully designed the unit to no be a phantom load, that is a very good idea.

The bad part here is that I just laid out cash for a new monitor/TV and a new chair for use at the computer. In other words I will have to wait.

Huh?

All this does is supply power for charging.

the u-socket looks good, and is a fair price.... if only i owned my own home... this product is not for renters

When I did rent places I would have no problem swapping out switches, wall plates etc. Don't see your point. What your landlord does monthly checks on electrical sockets?

My northface E-tip gloves are comfortable, warm and work perfectly with my iPhone. And the pair is only £16 through some online stores.

They look nicer than these gloves as well.

I don't think they are especially warm as they are not properly wind proof.. but they are decent enough for mild winter weather.

I fail to see how it's a news worthy item either.

Damn that U-Socket thing is an awesome idea! I hope they make European versions too...

Are we talking about bombs or home electronics?

Anyway, I never got the reason why red is hot and white is neutral considering technically on AC both are hot.

Usually Blue is for Neutral and Red or Brown is for Phase, (not to be confused with Positive and Negative, same initials). Yellow/Green stripes are for ground. And even though it's AC, that only means that neither is Positive or Negative. However, Phase and Neutral are well defined, because, in Layman's terms, if you touch Phase and you're standing barefoot on the ground, you die, but if you touch Neutral, you won't. It's pure convention, as Neutral is linked to Ground via the ground (the ground you stand on). Anyway, as long as you connect the same color wires to the right colors, you won't have any problems! Just don't mix them up on purpose by saying "oh it doesn't matter anyway", because one day someone might think the Blue wire is safe to touch and die... Well whatever, always turn off the current before doing that anyway!

I used to do that with my 3rd Gen iPod. Using the scroll wheel was a real pain and should definitely not be attempted while driving.
