Agreed....
My MX1000 lasts quite a while on a charge. I don't think I've ever seen the lights go red on mine, actually. I know I can use it for hours each night after I get home from work and by the end of the week, it still has 2 of the 3 green lights lit. At that point, I either remember to charge it - or forget and use it all weekend long until it's down to 1 green light, and then charge it.
However, I think I will call Logitech for a replacement, because the little "rocker" switch that the thumb-wheel is centered inside of is sticking. If I press it "up", it works fine, but if I press it "down", it jams in the down position until I manually press "up" again to free it. Rather annoying (though I really don't use that feature often anyway).

I use mine for 9 hours a day solid for work alone and then several hours in the evening for leisure... and I can still go several days without seeing a bar drop
