Are all iPhone fans that smart? Is it really that hard to come up with a single argument? Do you really insist that it takes 8 hours to charge Galaxy SII?

1. Yes we are.
2. No, it's not that hard but a waste of time. It's like arguing politics.
3. probably not, maybe closer to 7 1/2 hours.

I'm not sure about the GS2 but my soon to be ex Galaxy Nexus took forever to charge when I plugged it into my MBA. Probably not 8 hours but it seemed like forever. I know my MBA doesn't output the same as an adapter plugged into a wall but my 4S seemed to charge just as fast on my laptop as it did with the adapter.

How fast did the battery drain though? With my 3GS I noticed that charge lasted significantly longer when charging from my girlfriends iPad charger (but it took longer). Charging from my laptop or iPhone charger was fast, but resulted in a shorter battery life. Has anyone else experienced this?

OP, maybe try a Windows Phone. They have most of the benefits you listed with smoothness and polish to rival iOS, with a unique and beautiful UI.

And the app interfaces are brilliant and consistent.

Just cannot wait for the 900 to launch here soon! Eager for the win8 tablets too.

I don't know about the Air but if plugged into either Macbook Pro

3gs/4/4s - about 2-3 hours from 0-100%
i77 GS2 - about 3-4 hours

Usually it seems to add at least 30+ minutes to either phone over the wall charger as usb ports only supply .5A. When plugged into a wall outlet:

3gs/4/4s - 2 hours
i777 GS2 - 3 hours

Takes a little longer to charger as it has a bigger battery and also Android generally ships with limited draw wall units and some phones like my GSII I read self regulate amp draw but not sure why. But either way, the iPhone unit draws 1A while my GSII wall unit is .7A, so with a smaller battery and more draw that's how the iPhone charges faster. And on just usb their only getting .5A each so with both getting the same power the smaller battery on the iPhone let's it charge a lil faster.

Still not going to take 8 hours to charge, not near that, no idea why some think that.

I figured for $320 for an unsubsized phone that just came out in Sept/Oct that I had a cushion to sell it back easily on craigslist for no loss (ended up losing $20). Still a good deal though for an unsubsized phone less than 6 months old imo.

From the Xda forums the ATT note with the qualcomm chip has lag problems as well, even more so than the exnyos due to the qualcomm having a worse gpu? That was a main reason I went with the Galaxy S II for the processor to avoid any lag (or so I thought)

I didn't live in an LTE area so I didn't want the battery drain with the phone constantly looking for an LTE signal the way Verizon LTE phones get destroyed on battery life. Still was bad battery life though :(

I didn't know about the skyrocket having pentaband radio though. Thanks rjohnstone for the info... learn something new everyday :)

It was a night and day difference for me personally, I had both on 100% brightness while outside and the Galaxy S II was washed out for me personally. Not sure for everyone but the iPhones screen was definitely easier to read both brightness wise and pixilation wise.

I bought it for $320 and ended up selling it 30 min ago to a guy off craigslist for $300 ($20 loss, sorry for my confusing wording...)

The only time my Galaxy Note (ATT version) lags is when I put it into power saver mode. Other than that it is smooth as butter.

I live in Panama and i run a cellphone shop. Here we are unlike the US, people buy their phones unlocked and put their own sim card on it. 80% dont use contracts. I sell all types of galaxy series phones, including high end S2 LTE, Note, Nexus, etc.

My personal phones are iPhone 4 and blackberry 9900.

It is sad but true, after a couple of test, even the blackberry has smoother menu scrolling and any of the galaxy phones. They do lag. You can see this in the lockscreen, menu and when pinch zooming a picture very quickly.

Im not here to troll or bash, just to tell my personal experience with these phones, with emphasis on the lag issue. I believe a good phone is not how good they are at hardware but how they execute the software.

My first computer had 600mhz, 64mb ram, no gpu, ran windows 2000 at 800x600 and it scrolled pretty smooth, I just couldnt stand a decive many times more advance to fail on this, This is why I dont own an android phone.

What do you mean by lag? Draw rate of GUI or responsiveness of the GUI?

I played with a GSII and Galaxy Nexus...both were perfectly fine I though...and I like the larger screen over the tiny iPhone's screen :(

I also prefer typing w/ android keyboard....the whole word suggestion/correction just works better.

Not me, "The Tech Guy", just saying.

Ok. Maybe I misunderstood what you were referring to. I thought you meant the Note in general. My Note runs very smooth, but there is a slight bit of lag when using the digitizer pen. I haven't used one of those in the past, and have no clue whether the lag is normal or not, as I really have no daily use for the pen.
It is great with some games though..such as "draw Something"

Yes, when using the "notepad" or whatever the app was called with a stylus.

BTW do you have to carry that thing in your purse? Seems kind of large for pockets.

Some people have bigger pockets than others.

When the input lag is existant on every device, even on the iPhone. Microsoft recetnly demonstrated a 1 ms lag touchscreen but this is not out to consumers yet. On average it takes 100ms before the screen captures the input. It just gets more obvious when using a pen as movement is more precise than the finger.

The battery life shouldn't change because of where you charge it from.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.6; en-us; SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 Build/GINGERBREAD) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

The phone fits easily in my pocket and my sons have no problems either.

I get a kick out of people acting like this thing is to big to fit in pockets. It isn't really that big.its just that the iPhone is so small in comparison.

You should have waited for GS2 with 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

I am getting mine next month and hopefully ICS will be available by then

I don't believe in "Apple fanboys", because there are those people (like myself) that use Apple products because they work. They sync nicely with the computer, whether that be Windows or Mac, and they also just recently started syncing with each other very nicely. The app store is huge, the screens are nice, iOS is so silky smooth, and just like we've heard before, it just works. I am in the market for an iPhone right now, and I've thought about switching to android, because of it openness and the fact that if I get sick of one piece of hardware I can go to another, but I don't want to have to worry about things not working, music not syncing right, things like that. I like to have everything there and just working :). Sorry this was so long, didn't mean for it to be that long. Haha

I have a Galaxy Nexus, obviously running ICS, and it's as smooth as iOS.

So do I, it still lags and battery life is no way near as good as the iPhone 4s.

All android handsets I've had in the last 8 months have, GS2, Sensation, Nexus, Sensation XE.

I've also tried the N9 meego OS and when the headphone port on that gave up I replaced that with a Lumia 800. Also ad a Torch 9860 and BB Bold 9900.

I went through a mad craze of new phone every month...

Android openness is arguable. The benefits are to developers, not consumers. The amount of Apps i have downloaded on those varying android devices that were simply broken or really screwed with the device was shocking. And the google compatibility chart is often very wrong.

At least with iTunes you know if it's there and it says it will work, it will.

Meego nice integration with social media, terrible app store.
Lumia (Windows 7.5) really fast, but app store still weak in comparison, but offered better compatabilty than android marketplace at least.
