I use my 2015 Macbook Pro primarily in clamshell mode (closed with external display/keyboard) but when I put it to sleep the screen goes black for about 5 seconds and then wakes up again.

I don't have any 'stay awake' apps like Caffeine running, and I'm not moving a mouse or touching any other buttons etc. It just will NOT stay asleep.

I've tried disconnecting peripherals like my thundebolt drive, USB mouse, I've tried resetting the SMC, nothing seems to work, so I just end up leaving it on 24/7 but switch my display off. This isn't really good enough for me. It goes to sleep fine when it's disconnected from everything (like when I just close the lid) so I don't know what's stopping it in clamshell mode.

Any other clamshell users here found a way to make it go the F to sleep?!
