Here are some pictures of my newly converted white iPhone 4. The guys over at http://ifixyouri.com hooked me up (because of my website, YouTube channel, podcast, etc).

But, it turns out that these parts are NOT OEM. The inside of the back glass looks nothing like the OEM version. There is also a lot of glue/residue near the bottom of the front glass (which is why my screen shield is bubbling down there). A representative from iFixYourI says that it came from the little screen cover that they had on the phone when they shipped it back to me.

Oh well. Either way, I'm satisfied. OH YEAH! They didn't give me back me black parts. I'm going to see if they can send those over, or I'll really be pissed.

Other than that, it looks just like a legit white iPhone 4. Unless you know what the real parts look like on the inside, you won't be able to tell the difference (I think...).

Thoughts? Comments? I didn't pay a dime to get this service done, so it's sort of a good thing... I just want my black parts back, and then I'll be happy.

EDIT: In the pictures, it may look as if the phone has a yellowish tint. That's just from the pictures. It looks creamy white in real life.

This is great, but you do realize that you have just lost warranty for your iPhone 4....

No sh.t Sherlock

Proof that running a tech blog site doesn't make you any smarter than the common consumer ( the reason I take any online review with a grain of salt)

Why would you think these are OEM parts when Apple has yet to release the white iPhone

Looks good to me.

You should test the 5MP cam with the flash. Some people have had issues with the flash and aftermarket back replacements.

Because OEM parts are available all over the place. A company doesn't have to release a product for parts to be available. Apple has slowly been manufacturing the white one for quite some time. Considering this website charges $200, I figured they would've been OEM parts, but oh well.

My warranty's voided? Shouldn't I be able to put my black parts back in and it'll all be good, or no?

And the camera and flash seem to perform just as well as they did before.

Care to explain your argument that I'm stupid? We saw leaked iPhone 4 parts months before the iPhone 4 was even released...

yes and those were prototypes = not massed produced

If apple could produce white iPhone parts don't you think they would have released the phone already

Your argument is stupid because in short you stated that a company would make parts, yet not release a product. Why would any company waste money making parts for something that they haven't released.

Your reasoning is just so absolutely flawed its astonishing. You actually believed that you would receive Apple OEM white iPhone parts, yet Apple, with all their resources and money has yet to mass produce these parts.

They are producing the white iPhone 4... People have said that they're trying to come up with an antennagate fix, and will then release the white iPhone 4, which seems to be the most plausible, or will be exclusive to Verizon. Or, maybe Apple has been producing the white iPhone 4, and figured out the antenna problem after they started making more black ones than they have white, and then stopped the white production because of this.

There are a lot of different reasons as to why I think there are OEM parts. People have obtained a legitimate white iPhone 4 (complete in the white box and such) and have taken them apart, and there are similar parts on eBay to the OEM ones.

Simple. Apple is or has been doing something with the white iPhone 4.

ALSO! Chinese people aren't stupid... Individual buyers and resellers always make deals with manufacturers to get direct access to parts. So, I also think that Foxconn (or whoever) is making these parts is still making them even if Apple told them to stop, because of this.

I believe the official response was that they are still working on the white paint to avoid the screen light bleeding through the glass. Why does everyone believe they are fixing the "antennagate" with the white iPhone. Apple still doesn't believe it's an issue and as many threads and posts have said, they will not throw themselves under the bus by "fixing" it until they come out with the next iteration in June/July 2011. Do you know how many pissed off customers apple would have if they "fixed" the "antenna problem" of the current model after millions have already bought it.

I'm using quotations because I don't believe it's that big of a problem. Easily solved with a case or not ***** deathgripping your phone.

Hard to give credibility to a "reviewer" who doesn't do his homework and ends up with a fake iPhone with glue on it. Do you always endorse crap?

poor reasoning AND misinformed

its really hard/annoying to argue with someone who doesn't even read up on what they are arguing

sigh its useless

Here. How about instead of being a douche, you help me out then? Point me to some links about whatever you're arguing about, and then we'll talk. Constantly saying I'm stupid and misinformed is like arguing with some complete stranger on the street, calling them stupid without you telling them why.

OEM parts all over the place. Their still making them. Unless you tell me otherwise, I'm not changing my answer. I can care less to be honest ;).

Well for starters, my black iPhone has a white box as well. It's not difficult to copy the design of the current black OEM and make one-off colors. Doesn't mean OEM parts have been released for the white one.

Doesn't mean they haven't been released... Apple said that it'll be coming this year, so they've obviously been making them, maybe just at a slower pace compared to the black ones.

And why did your black iPhone 4 come in a white box?

Looks Nice Bro! I just cant justify spending that amount of cash on it, And then the warranty thing, But really looks nice, Great Pics!

The only black part was the front face of the box. Everything else is white. Im going off of a distant memory here so I'm probably wrong, but I thought the white iPhone box was the same, except with a white iPhone on the front.

BeSweeet saw your twitter pics looks like they used some really cheap parts too. And they messed up your camera that sucks.

ANYWAY, I've wanted the white iPhone 4 since they first announced it. I find it to look a lot better than the black one, but that's just me.

They're sending my parts tomorrow. I'm still satisfied with the way it looks, even if they aren't genuine parts. Sort of disappointing, though. Moving on.

Some of you guys are sort of jerks. All I said is that I can give them a bad rep. Should I make a blog posting about iFixYourI, it would be one of the top results in Google. Most people, before spending a lot of money on something, will want to find a review of it. There are no reviews regarding their conversion service, so I'll be the first, and mine will be a top result.

You have an overinflated ego. Your comment was jerkish too.

Just some friendly advice. If you are going to try and create a web business, don't run around making school yard comments on the internet. It makes you far less credible. If you really want to succeed with this, then don't let your ego get in the way.

Cheers.

I think the phrase you're after is "couldn't care less" - unless you could care less which means you care a lot?
