Call my store and I can add FAN numbers. Anyone that has a FAN number and needs it added PM and I will give you my store phone number and I'll add it. There is a form after that you have to fax in with proof.
 
my discount disappeared after getting my 3G - it was there as of thursday night, but when I checked this AM, my account did not have any discount listed...
 
Do you mean the phone itself or the service? If you meant the phone then no, there are no discounts, which we knew anyway.If you mean the service, then it's pretty much been confirmed that FAN discounts are eligible. And they won't "apply" the discount in store anyway; do it online and make sure it shows up when you log in. That's all you need to do...

I know u can't get a discount on the devise what soever. I went into At&T and tried to buy the iPhone and they said I can't get my FAN discount that I have with PwC (22% off) to work with the iPhone. They (the manager told me that) if you have an iPhone on what ever line ur getting the discount ur gonna have to add another line put the iphone on that line and only the main line can get the discount, and you can't have iPhones on main lines. And in order to get an iPhone u can't have the FAN discount at the time so you have to take it off and then re-apply it after u bought the iphone and you may or may not be able to get it again. they say it re-appears in 1-2 billing cycles but it's not guaranteed.

So this is what I have

Main line --Tried to get iphone for main line told me i couldn't..told me i had to add it to a sub line. But then when i said i was gonna add it to the sub line then they said only the main line gets the discount of (22%) not the sub lines because those are already discounted at $9.99. and that's the price that everyone has discount or no discount.

Sub line 2
Sub line 3

So in conclusion u have to add the iPhone to a sub line and the main line is the only one that gets the discount on the voice and data plan. So this is what At&T wants ur plan to look like

Main line----(22% discount FAN)--no iPhone
sub line 1-----iPhone eligible no FAN discount because it's not the main line
sub line 2-----iPhone eligible no FAN discount because it's not the main line
sub line 3-----iPhone eligible no FAN discount because it's not the main line

So they tell u ur still getting a discount on the iPhone voice and data plan which in reality ur not. I hope someone sues them when they cn't reapply their FAN/corporate discount again.

if this is true, it has big effing class action law suit written all over it... so what the f*** phone is on the "main" line?
 
the main line is the primary line. So every time you open an account the first number is the primary line and every other phone is a sub line. I hope people could sue them but i guess they wont because there was no FAN discount on the other phone either. Where did people get the idea that there was going to be a FAN discount for the phone? I know I read a bunch of places and believed it until I went into AT&T and told me there wasn't going to be a discount. I guess you COULD have an iPhone on the main line but there will be no discount from the start.
 
well since my first number is my iphone number, and since the 3g iphone is eligible for discounts on fan I will be getting a discounted rate, just so you know. not sure really what your situation is, family plan or something?

also, dont believe what they are telling people in the att store. they are either flat out lying or are just complete nimrods and dont get it.

Dude no iphone plan 2g or 3g is eligible for a FAN/corporate discount. Find a specific place where it says that and then I will believe u. They said you could re-apply the discount once you've activated the iphone but it's not guaranteed that you'll get the actual dicount even if the code is on ur account.

sorry but you are wrong. read this thread people are already reporting their dicounts showing up. Ive spoken to my att rep 3 times, who are way higher up than the mental midgets in the stores and they reassure me I will get the discount. not available on 2G correct because of the special contract but yes available on 3G.

we'll see...

when i went in to get my 3g i was signing up for service too cuz i switched from t-mobile. i told the guy i get an corp/employee discount after he was done setting up my account, i gave him my work id, he scanned it, then he put in the fan number, pin number, whatever you wanna call it. and that was it.

i also called at&t to check, i was directed to the business center, i asked the gentlmen if my pin/fan number was inputted for my corp/employee discount, and he said yes.


done and done.

true i got FAN discount through my school and all i did was put my email through the premier website. It never showed up during the 1st gen iphone although it was always on my account but now the price different is reflected on my account

Dude it may show up on the website but it doesn't mean it's gonna actually show up on your billing statement. Look call ATT and see what they have to say.

dude nm. get screwed over. tell the representative to read the fine print. They will tell u there's no discount. i even asked the manager at the att corporat store.

i guess high school emails dont work. just tried my schools email and it says it is not on their 'list'. bummer

Whoever said you have to get a new number to get an iPhone should be fired without severance pay.
 
I am receiving my discount on my account. My FAN has been there for a long time since activation in fact back in September of '07. iPhone did not receive discount until now. But my iPhone is the secondary line on the account.

the only way to be sure is when the first bill comes in. I too have called and emailed and was told both times that voice will be discounted but data is NOT.
everything I've read has no factual/documented support. until I hear or see billings or other service billing type documents that support that data plans can use the discounts, its probably safer to assume that the discount will not work. I hope that it does but there seems to be too much conflicting information, even at this point
