Well first impressions on the Lenovo are definitely not as nicely built as the air. Bottom panel is flimsy and the fans have been going non stop but its still getting all set up. It definitely gets warm in the keyboard deck during all the updates lol. Screen is decent, but not as vibrant or bright and holy reflective! Definitely no anti glare coating on it at all. looks like a mirror
You just explained why I have a Macbook Air (M1) and a gaming PC both. :)

I got an xbox series x. that's why I was unsure if having the dedicated graphics on the Lenovo even mattered
Yeah. I have a PS5. I use my Mac for all my personal and work needs and game on the PS5. Makes life simpler. After experiencing the battery life of my M1 Air, it's painful to try and use my Windows gaming laptop for anything ... especially with my Anker battery that will charge the laptop 1.5 times. I can get several days of battery life without ever needing to be near an electrical outlet. At least companies like AMD are making better strides for battery life, but they can't touch Apple at this point in power to efficiency. That's the other part of the equation is Windows laptops turn into slow garbage once you unplug them from the wall.

My main way of testing this laptop will be unplugged since that it how i want to use it for my day to day use. Its got an adaptive refresh rate so i have that on auto as well since the 3k 120hz was a selling feature for me.

Overall Its got a very nice display, vivid colours, not as colour accurate as the air though, i really notice it with reds, just doesn't have as deep of colour as the air display. Definitely more reflective but 99% of my usage is indoors so not a major set back. The keyboard is actually very nice to type on so far as well. Feels a bit less cramped but a bit more "mushy" feeling

Trackpad is huge and accurate but physically clicking sucks compared to the airs trackpad. i generally use tap to click anyways and both are similar in that fashion. The port selection is a bit nicer on this one as its got two usb a and two usb c. Again, not really a big deal for me as this is more for the couch.

Im already missing having the apple ecosystem though with all my pictures and music, getting my text messages etc.

It also gets pretty warm when i sit on the couch with it on a pillow and smother the fans lol. Oddly enough though they aren't ramping up yet though from it.

Well things arent looking so great for the Lenovo:

Bottom panel pops when you pick it up
Screen has a mark in it, damaged
Fans stay running if i wanna use it in full performance mode
Screen has zero anti reflective coating to it, i can count the beard hairs while im sitting here typing on it
The final nail in the coffin, i loaded up warzone to it, turned everything to low, dropped the resolution to under fhd and barely got 50fps on the smaller map.

The few positives are, the keyboard is slightly nicer laid out for typing and the 120hz screen is nice but not a huge deal for web browsing.

Ill give it a few more days since i have 14 day window to return, even if i chose this laptop, it would be exchanged for the damage anyways. But i dont see this being the one, 2 days of the apple ecosystem and i still have a lot more to learn about it but its already been so nice having all my stuff in one place.

Can't really weigh in on your decision here because I know nothing about Macs. I'm just considering the Slim 7 Pro X myself and found your thread on Google.

Have a look at this video where the uploader tries out some different performance profiles, turns out the top one isn't really worth it. I don't know whether it will improve your experience or not but it's worth a try.

Yea I tried the settings he suggested as well, though I actually scored lower doing it that way. I don’t think that Lenovo knows what it wants lol

That's one of the reasons I chose an Air rather than a Pro. I can use it anywhere without worrying about vents. It's my lounging around machine.

Definitely been enjoying mine for this very purpose. Typing this while on the couch with it on top of a pillow as well and cool has been lol

That's unfortunate. I'm looking for a 14" Windows laptop with an Nvidia RTX card. Forerunners are the Zephyrus G14 (I just wish it had Nvidia for DLSS), Predator Triton 300SE (no reviews of the 2022 model yet, seems like the 12th Gen Intels are still pretty hot/power hungry compared to AMD Ryzen), Razer Blade 14 (too expensive and I don't trust their build quality) - then this Lenovo appeared on my radar out of nowhere. Waiting for some more reviews to appear -it's quite a bit cheaper than the rest so I can cut it some slack on the short comings.

Sounds like you'll be sticking with the Mac though, hope it works out for you

Yup, Lenovo has been shipped back. Too many little issues and noticeably more sluggish just on basic stuff than the M2 air.

The blades are nice laptops, my wife had a Blade 15 for about a year and half now that she uses for hours and hours a day for work and then games with it on her off days. It’s been a very solid laptop for her.

Blade 14 was tempting but battery life is pretty rough and I spent most of my time using my laptop on the couch lol.
