Alright, take a look at this screenshot.
His Apple Watch Sport 42mm has been on for 1 day and 11 hours, with a usage time of 3 hours and 36 minutes.
At the moment of taking the screenshot, his battery was at 18%.
So that means that he can use his watch for two full days without charging.

Now my question is... how?
I can get around 15 to 19 hours out of my Watch, with minimal usage (Just checking time sometimes, and seeing notifications, around once or twice an hour).

What surprises me even more is that low usage he has.
After two full days, his Watch has a usage of 3 hours and 36 minutes, while I got that same usage after 15 hours.
He doesn't seem to use his watch more or less than mee, just checking notifications sometimes, and checking the time.

So, how is this possible?
The main difference is that I got a 38mm, and he has a 42mm, but that shouldn't make such a big difference in battery life, right?
I'm especially wondering how it's possible that my usage time is the same as his in 15 hours stand-by, while it takes him 35 hours in stand-by, and I am definitely not using my watch with screen on for 3 hours. So how can I decrease that usage time?

I hope someone has some suggestions, because I want that battery life as him, would be a dream coming true, right?

I think you mentioned the problem or reason at least. Obviously, the 42mm has been mentioned several times that it gets a slightly better better life but sometimes it appears it might be a lot more. Not sure how much though.

The usage you mentioned is the key to me. Even though you are not using yours a lot, it sounds like you may have an app that is causing the problem. I have seen it before and I have had the problem myself after bragging how great my battery life has been. I uninstalled 4 apps that I didn't use and shut off the watch and back on and everything was fine.

Several have talked about a poorly written app that is causing the problem.

The 3rd party apps I have installed are:
- Telegram
- Buienradar (weather/rain app)
- Sky Guide (Shows me the activities in space)
- Instagram
- Twitter
- Skype
- Wdgts (App that gives a calculator, currency app and iPhone stats)

Maybe you (or anyone else) know an app within this list that might make the difference?

This type of battery life is possible. I am able to use my Apple Watch Sport for about 3 days before recharging it.

I just get an average amount of notifications, some workout and wear it for about 7 hours a day.

I'd love to see your app list.
May I?

Yeah. I get about 12 hours on wrist.

Rarely use apps (though have them installed), a 30 minute workout and just checking time and notifications and I have about 18% when I take it off.

Only have essential apps installed on the Watch, such as:
  • Transit
  • eBay
  • Amazon
  • Twitter
  • Swarm
  • Instagram

Dayum, I want that battery life
Well you use fewer apps than me, thats for sure.
But how in the hell can you get more usage out of your watch than standby???
It means that your watch is constantly active o_O

I never noticed that lol. I use the workout app a lot. So maybe it's because of that?

Wht worry about your battery, you are getting good use, just relax and enjoy your phone!;)

Well, no.
I am barely using the Watch, and sometimes I get barely 15 hours out of it, and I think it's strange while others can get 3 days out of it with more usage than me.

Does skyguide use a lot of battery?

I thought I read one of the sky apps used a lot of battery power.

Skype was one of the apps that was noted (by others) to cause battery concerns. There are several posts about battery issues where the person's battery is draining fast and they have a rather large amount of usage even though they don't even use the watch much.

My wife has a 38mm and I have the 42. The setup/apps on ours are pretty much the same and we use them in very similar ways. My 42 has much better battery life than hers. It's hard for me to tell exactly what's going on with hers since, obviously, it's always with her. Everyone's experience will be different but there is a significant difference in battery life between the two.

Just deleted it :)
But still weird though, my friend has Skype installed and has no issues.

Try turning off "Hey Siri".

Turned that off a while ago, didn't make too much sense for me.

I get 2 days on my 42mm what's the big deal?

I think the big deal is that OP and others are barely getting 1 day out of it with minimal usage.

I don't mind getting just the 1 day (17ish hours) out of it, I charge every night anyway. Would be great to get the same battery life I see reported by others though.

I spoke to an Apple rep about it and they said my usage and battery life was typical with the posted 18 hours usage they claim. Which sucks because it looks like Apple undersold and over delivered on battery life so anyone getting "typical" battery life at this point has no real recourse.

It may take using the app to start the problem - I don't know, but if you did a search you may see Skype mentioned a few times. You could also just have a bad battery, but with all that usage, it has been an app in other cases. Best to allows completely shut off the watch and back on, charge fully and watch the battery and usage.

I would remove all third party apps, complete shutoff of watch, probably reboot phone and not repair as that hasn't been a concern when I had the problem. I removed all my third party apps and everything was great again and then I added in my favorites slowly.
