I don't use the workout app though so I'm sure that makes a big difference.
I havent been using the workout app for a while too, doesn't make too much sense for me unfortunately.

Cheater. How long do you sleep? 16 hours?wear it for about 7 hours a day.
Hey! Another Dutchie. Where did you buy yours?I havent been using the workout app for a while too, doesn't make too much sense for me unfortunately.
I was till yesterday, using watchOS 2 beta 3 now, but no real difference between them in battery life. Are you using 1.01?

Try turning off "Hey Siri".

Alright, take a look at this screenshot.
His Apple Watch Sport 42mm has been on for 1 day and 11 hours, with a usage time of 3 hours and 36 minutes.
At the moment of taking the screenshot, his battery was at 18%.
So that means that he can use his watch for two full days without charging.
Now my question is... how?
I can get around 15 to 19 hours out of my Watch, with minimal usage (Just checking time sometimes, and seeing notifications, around once or twice an hour).
What surprises me even more is that low usage he has.
After two full days, his Watch has a usage of 3 hours and 36 minutes, while I got that same usage after 15 hours.
He doesn't seem to use his watch more or less than mee, just checking notifications sometimes, and checking the time.
So, how is this possible?
The main difference is that I got a 38mm, and he has a 42mm, but that shouldn't make such a big difference in battery life, right?
I'm especially wondering how it's possible that my usage time is the same as his in 15 hours stand-by, while it takes him 35 hours in stand-by, and I am definitely not using my watch with screen on for 3 hours. So how can I decrease that usage time?
I hope someone has some suggestions, because I want that battery life as him, would be a dream coming true, right?![]()
If I barely use my watch, it is usually 70% or higher after 16 hours. Mine is a 42mm though. I think the usage time is the key15 hours is good and most people do not get near three days on a charge.
That is great news and there is some communication between the watch and phone - make changes to weight, height, etc - writes to the phone and then to health app. Any movement writes to phone and then health app.Reporting back here.
I have my watch on for 5 hours and 12 minutes now, and it's at 83%.
Not too bad I guess?
Although the usage is still 1 hour and 26 minutes, and I did not use it for that long, so there is still something happening in the background.

Take a look at the health app on the phone and then click on active calories and then click on show all data. You should see all the times the watch sends info to the phone to write to the Health App. This is just one example
Glad your watch is working well. Keep an eye out when you add in apps to see if that changes.
Each night, I charge my watch back to 100% before bed and then I wear it for the vibrating alarm and turn off wrist raise and set to do not disturb if it isn't already active. I normally wake up 7-8 hours later with 93-94% battery. Every once in awhile, I see 85-88% and I shut the watch off and back on. Seems to happen once a week. I've debated rebooting each night when I charge.
I'm also very impressed with the OS2 B5 battery life and my battery life has always been great. Actually impressed with B5 overall.Small update here.
I went through a full day today, and I have 59% left, which was usually between 7 and 18%.
Outstanding battery life since the latest beta of watchOS 2, much better than watchOS 1 for me
Im very satisfied now!
That is good news. My wife's 38 is regularly in the 20s at the end of the day, while I'm almost always in the 50s or higher with my 42. I was concerned that there wouldn't be any or very little improvement in battery life with the new software.Small update here.

59% after 15 hours is great. As I said my wife's 38 is in the 20s with less usage. My 42 is so good I rarely bother to even look at it, I just put it on the charger when I go to bed. If it gets better after the 2.0 update maybe I'll only charge it every other day.My days aren't too long though, 14 to 15 hours maybe these days (holiday).
But still, 59% after 15 hours is more than enough!

I used a 38mm version for around two weeks before trading up for a 42mm. I noticed that with the same usage pattern, at the end of the day (starting from around 8:15am until around 11pm to midnight) I would end up with around 44-48% battery on my 38mm and around 65-67% battery on my 42mm. I only started really working out heavily after switching to the 42mm but even running the workout app for 60-90 minutes, my battery would be around the 48-52% range after having it on for around 15 hours.
Generally I can get about two full days on my 42mm. Last time when I went away for a trip for one night I didn't bring my charger and just put the watch into power saving mode overnight. By the time I got back home the next day and put it on the charger I still had around 11% battery left. I've certainly been very happy with the battery.
Currently my usage is showing as 28 minutes with 4 hours, 39 minutes of standby time and I have 95% battery left. I haven't had too many notifications this morning, less than usual it seems, hence the low usage/high battery left.
In terms of third-party apps I have:
1Password
Apple Store
CloudMagic
Medallia (work-related app)
Shazam (shown in glances)
Uber
WeChat (shown in glances)
XE Currency Pro (shown in glances)
Generally battery life doesn't tend to be linear though. As of now my usage is 1h10m with 9h39m of standby and my battery is at 82%. So a drop of 13% after an additional 42m of usage and 5h of standby. Again, it's been a fairly quiet day as by now I think I'd be into mid to high-70% range. That's pretty nice!
The only thing that bothers me is that I have still a much higher usage time than others.
Although it got less with beta 5, it's still pretty damn much.

I still have a feeling it could be related to an app that's running in the background...? I noticed that when I had an app called Waterlogged installed on my watch that my battery ran down super fast. I think it somehow managed to stay active in the background and if I still had it on my watch, I would probably be around 60%ish of battery left instead of 82%.
That difference in your 42 from the 38 is consistent with what I've observed between my wife's 38 and my 42 both with similar usage. It will vary of course but always seems to be about 20% less battery charge remaining on my wife's watch. I had tried to steer her to the 42 but she felt it was a little too big and has been very happy with the 38. She does occasionally place it back on the charger during the day but has not fussed about that. If watchOS 2.0 improves her battery life she will really be happy.I used a 38mm version for around two weeks before trading up for a 42mm.
