And she's been doing it for months. Is her screen all but ruined? Any suggestions for a better way to clean/sanitize it?

Probably not if she only did it once.
If she does it all the time the oleophobic coating is gona be gone and the screen will probally get massive ammounts of finger prints etc real easly.

Not going to ruin it though.

Have you noticed anything wrong with the screen itself? If not, then most likely she hasn't done any damage, but I wouldn't recommend cleaning it with windex, mainly because it ends up touching her face and that's really had for her skin, and also overtime it may do some damage to the glass. There are literally thousands of iPhone cleaners out there. You can just go down to best buy and pick one up. Personally, I use the Monster ScreenCleaner. It works on everything pretty well, and it comes with a microfiber cloth. I usually just wipe it off with the cloth since it takes off all the dirt/fingerprints right away.

Anything else I can google for you? :D

Yes. "What causes people to be obnoxious?"

iKlear with microfiber

Does iKlear sanitize as well? She's a bit of a germaphobe.

Get a screen protector and then u dont have to worry about what you clean it with!

everyone's telling you its not going to ruin it so the next post you make says "I'm gonna guess it's ruined" :p:p:p

Check your facts dude. They said if shes done it only once the screen won't be ruined. She's done it several times. Get over yourself:p:p:p

i use soapy water and a microfibre... if its handy cheap aftershave works well too and smells better

This is ruining it as far as I'm concerned.

Lol, I used sunglass solvent on my 3gs screen, it cleaned it really well, but I did start to notice that it started attracting fingerprints and crap really easily, so I wouldn't suggest doing it. Soap, water, and a good cleaning cloth are the best options. The first answer you got was right.

But the screen is NOT ruined, it'll just get dirty faster.

Well thank you for a legit and unsmartass answer, unlike some other people here. Perhaps I'm too picky about the "newness" of our products, and maybe ruined wasn't the right word...maybe "damaged" wouldn't have caused such an uproar and RUINED people's nights :D.

Just us some water and a microfiber cloth. There's no need for expensive cleaners.

I use Windex AB about once a week.. shouldn't cause any issue unless you use it heavily each day. Then the ammonia might affect make the screen coating.

Omg, there is NOTHING wrong with using windex on an iphones screen. Except maybe vinegar based. I use windex on my iphone all the time for over a year and it doesnt cause problems....

I've been using windex to clean both my original and my 3GS for years. Not just the glass, but the whole thing! There has been no degradation on the oleophobic coating and they both look brand new.
