I spent 30 years in the broadcasting industry as a DJ and I gotta tell you listening to speakers for a good part of my life the HomePod has to be one of the biggest disappointments I have ever heard. There as absolutely no depth to this speaker and the overwhelming base is annoying. Bose and Sonos TRUMP this speaker. Volume is horrible and the sound is not rich.

If you have just recently bought it, then try return it to the shop and swap it for something else if you can?

I’ve got to say, my Experience is quite different.
I’ve had a homepod for a few days now, compared to my Sonos play ones I prefer it. It’s got a warmer tone that I prefer, the bass is great in the midsize room it’s in, not overpowering at all. Depth is difficult to quantify on a single speaker I think.
but for the money? I’m impressed.
