When I had my iPad 2 (which I believe is lighter than the iPad 3) I would read in my bed on it. If I ever started to doze off or lost my grip I'd have a 10 inch slab of glass smacking me in the face.

But it was so relaxing, the risk was worth it.

LOL...U speak the truth, I'm sure many of us have had the same happen!

And I'm an original and and iPad3 owner :D

That's why I got a mini.
I use a smart cover and hook my fingers with it folded to read in bed. Got smacked a couple of times when the magnets would let go.
