nice! buddy of mine just got his delivered too. yet for some reason mine's still showing stuck in oakland! we ordered basically at the same time and live only a few miles from each other. WTF?

Looks like she filmed in in portrait mode (i.e., held the phone vertical). Guess one side effect of it being 720p (and thus widescreen) is that video shot in portrait mode is going to look really skinny.

Portrait video sucks, always. I wish it wasn't even possible to shoot it that way.

Should i be worried about no delivery status change?

i got the email saying the phone should arrive on the 23rd and my iPhone is currently in Oakland, CA. The phone has not left Oakland to a closer location like Cupertino yet. Should i be worried that i wont get the phone on the 23rd?

Wow. Apple should disable recording video in Portrait mode. 480x640 was bad on the 3GS but 720x1280 is horrendous.

Is UPS or FedEx delivering your phone?

UPS' primary routing facility is in Louisville, so the usual flight plan for their cargo planes is China to Anchorage to Louisville since their MD-11Fs need to make a fuel stop in ANC.

FedEx's two main facilities are in Memphis and Indianpolis. They can either route via Anchorage, as well, or if you're lucky, your iPhone went on an FX 777 Freighter which can fly non-stop from China to MEM/IND.

My tracking number is for FedEx. Which is why i thought it was really weird that my phone is sitting in Louisville. UPS runs that town. Now i just wish that it would just make the last 75 miles of its journey to me in Lexington :p

Ok - my phone has been in Alaska for a day and a half. Just received "clearance". Apple sent me an email this morning that I would be receiving phone a day early (June 23). Now - I'm in Southwest Florida - what are the chances of that phone leaving Alaska - getting into Memphis - leaving Memphis - and being in SWFL tomorrow? I am not holding my breath. Also - I'm not complainig - seriously, I'm not. I'm thrilled to get it at all, but hate to get excited for tomorrow, and then have it not happen.
Mine's in the same boat. It sat in Anchorage for 22 hours before getting customs clearance - it finally cleared around noon Alaska time today. I'm waiting for it here in Massachusetts. HOWEVER, I'm not worried about it getting to me tomorrow.. mostly because this is FedEx's business. They ship stuff overnight. The further it goes the more it's likely to cost, but if they say that they can get it there overnight, they do. So I'm not going to freak about whether it can make its way all the way from Anchorage to Massachusetts. I'm just going to take a deep breath and trust them.

Now, if I check the tracking at 9am tomorrow and it's not on the truck for delivery, then I reserve the right to freak. :p

Seriously, the first person to post video takes footage of their TV? Come on.

And who cares about SD video, if you're going to post something, go outside and pan it around, and do it in 720.

One thing that was funny about the video was that the metadata includes the exact location of where it was taken. So not only did you make a lame choice of video sample, you just told the whole world exactly where you are as well.

ours our still in alaska... and have been for the past 2 days.... :(

Mine showed that it was released for international ship about a half hour ago after sitting in AK since 6PM EST last night. I did get the june 23 delivery email, so hopefully the status update was just late and it was already on its way to the east coast.

I, too, have been stuck in Oakland. On boxoh.com, it just changed at 1:20 to say "departed from Fed Ex location."

Still waiting

I'm still waiting for FedEx to have information on my tracking number. The ship date on AT&T's site says the 19th, but still no further information...
