Don't you guys have wifi at home? Why not hook that up? We can keep our transfers on the 3G network to under 200mb a month cause 99% of the time we're near a wifi that we can tap.
Of course we have wifi at home. And he has wifi at work. And given the various changes I've made to his settings, he'll be fine.

Is there an app like My data manager? I have it on my SGSII SR and it tracks every program and records it's usage. Makes it very easy to identify the problem.
I added NetStat. It's very informative, and yes, even on wifi it keeps jumping back to 3G.
Im more convinced than ever that the data usage issue and the battery life issue are related. This thing is constantly doing stuff.

kinda sad my iphone4S downloads at 8.7Mbps and uploads at 1.7Mbps which is way faster than my DSL connection available in my area. It only gets 2.7Mbps/600kbps =[

So i tend to watch youtube videos on my iphone more lol.

Mobile BroadBand is the future, so the Carriers and their advocates (read: you unlimited data plan hater) need to just get over it.

Give us what we demand... UNLIMITED data period!!!

My iPhone data usage has sky rocketed since i have gotten an iPhone 4s.. I dont use the phone any differently.. But heres the graph showing my previous usage and also the usage showing teh full month i have had the phone..
Lastly, My internet usage this month is already over 3 GIGS!!! luckily im on unlimited.. But my plan just restarted on the 6th!

And this is why ATT and Verizon has eliminated their unlimited plans.

It must suck to not have unlimited data and have to always monitor how much you use your favorite toy.

I never understood why people didn't make a bigger fuss over unlimited plans going bye bye in favor of tiered plans. The common response seemed to be, "Hey, I don't use that much data anyways! Might as well save $5 a month!"

Just because you didn't use more than 2GB then doesn't mean you won't in the future. Soon people are going to be kicking themselves in the butt for not making a bigger fuss over unlimited data plans being taken away.

I added a new line so my only option was 200 MB and 2 GB so I went with 200 MB and managed to be fine for the first 6 months before I went over. I then switched to the 2 GB plan, but I rarely even hit 500 MB. I would prefer that AT&T bump 200 MB to 500 MB keeping the same price. Maybe even add a 1 GB and 1.5 GB tier plan.

Don't we all... and At&t knows this... that's why they don't do it.

I have a 1gb data plan with 02 in the Uk.

Even with heavy surfing every day ive not gone over this once although if I did then 02 would strangle the speed instead of charging me.
