Congrats

I am glad you got a replacement however most of your frustration was caused by you not realizing this was not an issue that could have been resolved with a telephone rep. I know your Apple store was farther than optimal but remember there are sooo many irresponsible people who drop their phones in water and claim manufacture defects so Apple has to protect themselves against that.

Thats just ridiculous. Both visible water damage indicators weren't tripped. Thats reason for apple to investigate further, even if they suspect foul play. Telling the op it was his fault and they arnt going to do anything is completely unacceptable.

NEVER SAID IT WAS HIS FAULT or HE GOT HIS PHONE WET

I said OP got frustrated talking to people over the phone when he needed to walk into a APPLE STORE so they could look at his phone. Which was my original response to his thread...dont send the phone in visit a store so they can check it out.

Apple reps have heard it all before and thats why they didnt want to send another phone before they inspected his...We all pay for the scammers of the world.

I never said it was you that said it was his fault and theres no need to get so aggressive!

Apple told him that it was his fault, when evidence suggested it might not be. That is bad customer service. You shouldn't have to visit an apple store to get help.

While "you shouldn't have to visit an Apple Store to get help", there are some physical situations for which there is no other remedy. A seriously bizarre situation like this immediately calls for a trip to the Apple Store. If the OP had gone there sooner, there'd have been an quicker resolution.

Won't the Apple engineers be surprised when they receive the device that they dismissed out of hand; you know that it'll be sent to them for dissection.
