I think they might be shipping them out from Louisville in the AM flights because if you check departing flights for UPS, there are about 80 + flights departing between 2:30 AM and 5:30 AM to different cities across the US

I live in boston and right now my package is still in Louisville. i check and it seems like the only flight to boston already toke off. which is the 5X 1014. and my package status still says its in Louisville... Kinda nervous right now that its gonna miss the delivery date... HELP ME OUT GUYS.

It won't miss the delivery date. I think the next stop after Kentucky will be a fairly local UPS warehouse, and it'll go out on Friday morning.

Both of mine are still in China and I think as long as it gets to Alaska by later this afternoon or night, I should be fine.

But mine's been stuck in kentucy for the past 3 days... I think the UPS track package thing is not up to date. That at least what we hope.

Apple probably has a hold on it and won't let UPS send it any further to its final destination until Friday.

That may be the big warehouse in the eastern region where they're keeping most of the unshipped phones, since Apple has asked them not to send them out til Friday. May just be more economical and cheaper for them to leave it there than take up space waiting in one of the local UPS places.

Yeah, I heard a lot of people's shipment are being held there... Its funny how few of the verizon orders got delivered a day early.

;) In other news..

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 10/13/2011 4:25 P.M. Departure Scan

One of my orders are on that...

Both phones ordered at the same time have now been fully shipped by Apple. Funny how they are shipped 2 days apart...

I still have no info on tracking just a tracking number... It still says order processed for UPS. Im beginning to get worried it won't arrive Friday.

When did it arrive? Did you order it through Apple?

no ordered it through att website, I have premeir account, ordered it on 7th 4 am. Until today it said backordered and all of sudden go two emails with saying its being shipped and tracking #.
it arrived 10/13/11 1:01 am

Mine has been sitting in Louisville since Tuesday morning at 9:28. Obviously they have been instructed to hold the shipments for delivery on Friday. I haven't even seen the package move yet, suggesting they will ship tonight/early tomorrow morning for a normal Friday delivery. Dang.

Chicago, or Evanston to be specific. I think I remember the same thing happening last year with the 4, although I know then that my phone sat in Anchorage for a day.

I wonder whether Apple ships the iPhones in master cartons and then has UPS logistics manage individual packing or if they're shipping ready to ship box in a box packages directly from China? Seems silly to ship extra air, but I'm not sure Apple would trust UPS to do the packaging either, but logistically, it seems like the former is probably what is happening.

They simply provide the batch tracking number, ship containers of master carton iPhones and have UPS (or in some cases FedEx) do the repacking - hence their sitting here in Louisville for a couple of days.

thats probably not the case because then it would be really hard for ups to package the piece of paper which has your shipping address, the credit card number that you ordered on and the cost of the device (invoice basicly). dont even get to the fact that you can add custom gift message in the package... That will be a whole lot for ups to do so i think apple toke care of it themselfs.

I've used 3rd party logistics like UPS and they can do everything and make it appear to come directly from Apple. What would suggest Apple is controlling this from China is the constant stream of shipments coming in without benefit of a few extra days for repacking.

I do however wish mine could have been one of the boxes that slipped through the system and got delivered early. Oh well.

Yep, mine says Shipped by UPS worldwide express!!! I can't wait till tomorrow!!

Mine still doesn't have an expected delivery date on UPS, but when I called yesterday, customer service told me tomorrow end of day. :( and I'm getting mine ups world express.

Mine says world ease which I looked up. It's many packages in a single shipment for the ease of customs. I'm paraphrasing but it's something like that.
