My iPhone 6 Bent. What now?

I have to say I was on the fence on this bending thing. Until I got home today to put a new case on my wife's 6+. Took off the old case....and I seen the screen was popped out a little. I pushed it back into place. Although you can't really make out a "bent" on the phone, it does wobble on the table now screen down. I will continue to monitor it. She's definitely not a happy camper :(

Proof? Or it is just a story.

"Pic or didnt happen" - "Your fault for keeping it in your wife's pants" - "Cant happen, Consumer Report said....use facts" - "Pic of Wife + Phone or it never happened"

If you pocket your iPhone 6 Plus and it bends then it's your fault. End of story. These phones are not designed to be carried in pockets. You do it at your own risk, but please don't go crying to Apple if you do bend your phone. They should not be expected to eat the costs of damage caused by your decisions.

Proof? Or it is just a story.

This is the idiocracy I'm talking about on these forums. He's not a MacRumors member and he didn't take a picture, but who cares if he did? The OP in this thread did and everyone assumes he's a liar and did more than he claimed to it. So how would a picture help?

So you want people's phones to break just to prove your point? Shameful, seriously. Very shameful. I'm certain you won't get the last laugh.

I hope anyone who doubts this design flaw has a phone that bends.

You acting vindictive will most certainly put you in the front line for the next unfortunate experience. You can trust that. I'm really understanding why so many people don't like Apple fans.

I was in denial for the first 2 weeks and I stood by Apples side and defended them over and over but sadly I retract my defense. The phones are extremely bendable and not under normal conditions.

Last night I attended a haunted hay ride here in Los Angeles, I sat down with the rest of the crowd in a hay covered wagon and totally forgot that that my 6Plus was in my front pocket, I was wearing somewhat loose shorts. This morning I woke up and my phone is officially rocking back and forth on a flat table...Its slightly bent.

I took such good care of this phone, I think this was the first time it was ever in my pocket.

At this point its worthless for me to even go and exchange it, whats the point if all I'm going to receive is a another 6 Plus that bends.

All I can do is wait and hope that Apple steps up and recognizes this problem and fixes it for the 6S Plus next year.

Exchange it and sell the new unopened 6+ on Ebay. Supply is still tight so you'll get enough cash for a 6S+ for sure.

IMO accepting a defective product only rewards the company for their incompetence and heightens the chances of future defective products. If 6 pluses really do have a bending problem, then buyers need to make it cost Apple. Apple may choose to ride out bad PR, but if they lose a few million on 6+ exchanges, heads will roll.

It's too early to know the severity of the 6+ structural flaw, but as CR's testing proves, it is a weak design compared to other industry flagships (including Apple's former flagship device). It's also a bad sign that so many people are noticing bent 6 pluses without recalling having placed any stress on the devices. To me that suggests this will balloon into a huge problem in a few months.

I'm ashamed to admit that I've had the same thought in passing.

I don't really want anyone's 6+ to bend, but these attacks on anyone who does suffer a bent iPhone are vile. It's astonishing how unsympathetic and hateful people can be in the service of a corporate entity.

The stupidest comment Ive ever read in over 4 years of being on this forum. Congrats!

Well with all due respect my friend you're doing exactly what you're accusing others of doing. Not good karma being vindictive. If you don't like certain people's posts just ignore them or me. I'm very vocal here but I certainly don't deserve someone to hope my iPhone 6 Plus breaks simply because they don't care for my posts. That's absolutely horrible for anyone here to say. This forum has gone down to hell.

Take it to the Apple Store and plead your case. Even if they make you pay a little you can eBay the replacement and get good money out of it. Do it soon because the bent issue is real and is gaining momentum. Dump the plus while there is still a market for it.

The scary part for 6+ owners is that with aluminum stresses are additive (metal fatigue). It could be fine for months riding in a certain pocket every day, but then bend severely with just a little extra stress.

If it's as bad a flaw as I fear, then it will be a year or two before this design flaw blossems into a full blown consumer backlash. The class action lawsuit is guaranteed to cost Apple more than it would have to build stronger iPhones, and the loss of reputation will be priceless.

As a Mac user, I hope Apple learns from this mistake. I hope they question their design philosophy and strive for a better balance between form and function. Whether their corporate culture is capable of such introspection remains to be seen.

Would you like pictures of the truck, the pants or the phone? Maybe a video and the weather conditions on the day??

You are on a forum bud! Every post you could question lol.

Yes true.

But follow the thread and you see who the comment was directed at is making a lot oi statements as fact without any proof whatsoever.

Hey kettle meet pot.

Finally, some common sense in this thread.

You shouldn't have to worry about your phone bending since it shouldn't happen under normal use, right?

So what are you so afraid of?

It would be horrible if we really meant it, but we don't. When you're done playing the victim maybe you can stop and wonder why you thought my post was directed at you (it wasn't).

Go find someone else to be vindictive to. You don't seem to have anything else to add to the discussion.

I didn't say your post was directed at me now did I? I included myself as vocal person on this forum. Period. And don't kid yourself, it's pretty obvious you're hoping someone's phone that doesn't agree with some of the complainers here breaks. Karma's a beech. :)

Are you saying you didn't have any? :D

Let's get one thing straight buddy: I don't want any iPhones to bend. You sound a bit disingenuous but in case your aren't, I suggest you go back and read my comment again. It speaks for itself and no honestly objective reader would think I'm sitting here rubbing my hands together grinning at the thought of anyone's iPhone bending.

I must admire you're skill at derailing the discussion, though. You've adroitly bent attention away from the flawed design of the 6+, instead focusing on your victimization. I wonder, whatever could be the reason why?

Yeah, it's ridiculous that Apple banned that one German blog for doing their own tests. I guess they're lying too?

It's quite sad that these extreme Apple fanboys are like battered women when it comes to the 6 bending, they feel like they should put up with it or they deserve it. At the end of the day it shouldn't be happening but people in this forum enable Apple by defending them.

WAKE UP PEOPLE, A $1000 PHONE SHOULDNT BEND SO EASILY!

And it's really sad how you put forth so much energy bashing people on this forum for their opinions. And it's also sad how you feel the need to be right, when you're obviously not.

Henry, it is really sad to watch that you don't realize that this is exactly what you are doing time and time again. It is you that posts on people's threads and spend so much energy bashing people and needing to be right. These guys are responding to your behavior.

You are right this phone shouldn't bend, so something is going on here. But who's ass will be covered for this?

And what type of phone are you using?

I have a unbent iPhone 6 plus and all I can say it's perfect and I am not dumb enough to sit on it, or try to see how hard it is to bend!

You don't actually have to be stupid to sit down with your phone in your back pocket. I've done it plenty of times since I got my Plus on launch day. Guess what? No bend.
