What cartridge was used here? I'm curious because it looks like the phone completely STOPPED the bullet, which is quite awesome.

You'd think it would only be something like a BB or perhaps pellet gun.
Even a .22 should have easily penetrated right through an iPhone, I would think (not going to test out the theory on my own iPhone, though!).

The real question is: was the phone in your pocket when your "friend" shot it?

I'm surprised that the screen is the only thing that seems off. The battery is directly behind that indent.

If you don't want to use your last AppleCare+ accident, then you are going to have to pay the out-of-warranty fee to exchange the phone.

Depending on where you live, you *could* take your friend to small-claims court for the cost of a replacement.

I thought Apple plus was an insurance and covered accidental damage?

Anyway, friend shot it, friend pays for it.

Correct. AppleCare plus has a deductible that he will still have to pay to get a replacement.
It covers up to 2 accidental replacements.

ok ok...to be honest, I didn't realize I was being totally "dishonest" and "coning them" but yeah, that maybe not the best option..

But if I told them the truth and all, Is there any chance they would replace it without charging me?

I mean, if theres a white spot on the screen, will they directly associate it with the dent on the back??

Try it and see how far you get with that.
Hey guys don't look at the bullet hole in the back but it has a white spot on the screen.
How ridiculous does that sound to you?

***** happens to everyone. Just be honest and tell them what happened, you might end up getting a free replacement rather than lying your way out of it. It's gonna be hard to deny and hide that big dent in the back. Do the right thing.

And enters why many none gun owners have low opinions of gun owners. (sigh). That was some sort of a air rifle btw even a .22 short would punch a hole in an iPhone.

Your best bet it to hold your hillbilly friends beer while he buys you an out of warranty replacement.

Bahahaha

ok, seems like im going to have to use my last Apple Care+ Accident thing....I let you guys know what happens after I go to the Store today

I did tell my friend to pay for it but he is being a complete a$$ about it...I need to start hanging out with better people

Shoot that so-called friend of yours with a paintball gun, and aim it at his balls.

lucky it did not catch on fire if it damaged the battery. Li on battery fires are awesome.

Why would anyone shoot an iPhone, still trying to think about that one.

Obviously a fandroid/Samsung paid iPhone assassin.

Ok, seriously OP:

  1. Ditch this "friend" especially as he refuses to pay for a replacement
  2. Suck it up and pay the fee and consider it a lesson learned
  3. Get a bulletproof case*

*May not be serious.

Why is OP wanting to be dishonest to Apple store and conniving them to give a free replacement? When I read your first post, I instantly thought that it was you who accidentally or for fun shot your own iPhone. Now you are using your friend as an excuse.

If my friend did such idiotic thing, I wouldn't post on MR forums. But get replacement money from my enemy (yeah, friends don't go around shooting others mobile phones)

In short, if your story is true, get the money from your friend. Simple.

So last night, my ****** friend shot my iPhone 6 with his weird hunting gun (without my consent)..So it made a big dent on the back of the phone (attached picture). I was wondering if apple geniuses would replace it..?

I do have apple care +. Although, I have already used one of my accidents when I dropped my phone a couple of month ago. I want to keep my last accident...just to feel safer. So to rephrase my question: Is there a way to get my phone exchanged with a new one without using my Apple Care + last accident??

And there is a distortion on the screen, like a little dot that looks taller and brighter than the rest of the screen..

What I was thinking, if to come in the store and tell them there a weird dot on my screen and pretend that I dont know about the huge dent under my cover...and then if my planets to the replacement they see the dent, I would act surprised....?

Anyone has a better plan?

Thanks in advance for the feedback

Make your friend do the right thing....Replace the phone..

What was your other AppleCare+ incident?

I'd suggest something like this for it:
iPhone-6-Case-i-Blason-Apple-iPhone-6-Case-47-inch-Armorbox-Dual-Layer-Hybrid-Full-body-Protective-Case-with-Front-Cover-and-Built-in-Screen-Protector-Impact-Resistant-Bumpers-for-iPhone-6-White-0.jpg

...and better friends.

with refrigerated paintballs...

If you told them the truth of course they will be charging you for the replacement. I don't know why you think they should be replacing your phone for free. Make your friend pay for it.

If your friend is still refusing to pay for the phone he DAMAGED!!!!!!!!!! Definitely get a few common friends to hold him down when you take a shot with this pellet gun to his stupid ass. And make sure to video with your replacement phone.

Better plan? Grow up. Take responsibility. That goes for your "friend" too.

AC+ may not actually cover this. AC+ is for accidental damage. This is clearly not accidental. It's not a "you can destroy your phone and we'll give you a new one" policy.
