Whenever I type, after updating it to the latest version of software, the sound is low whenever I type. Apple default messaging app works but not the other social media messaging apps. How can I fix this ? I tried to restart my phone and it did not fix the issue.

I suppose this a new feature in iOS. I have two 17 pro max phones, one iPhone 15 for work. I have the sound turned on for the keyboard and ringer volume is up, sound volume is up, & Siri volume is up. None of these make any difference in the keyboard sound. Unless it’s a bug, this is a new feature on iOS as the texting sounds on prior versions was loud and annoying to a lot of people. It’s ok for me, this way the keyboard sound isn’t going to disturb anyone like my wife while she sleeps.

I had a friend say this to me after getting 26.2....I wonder if they made a change in the software. All the settings looked right.

Hey, I had the same issue after an update – keyboard clicks super quiet in most apps except Apple's own.
Try this:Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Keyboard Clicks – make sure it's turned ON and slide the volume ringer all the way up.
Then, open Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Haptics – set it to "Always On" (sometimes "Auto" makes it too weak).
Also check if Low Power Mode is on – turn it off, as it lowers haptic/sound feedback.
After that, force quit the social apps and reopen. Worked for most people with this exact problem.
Let me know if it helps!

I went to those settings but I don’t see it, I’m using the latest version of iOS, just updated it today. How can I find those steps on this latest version?

I've been having the same problem since the iOS 26.2 update. Actually, the keyboard sound has never worked perfectly for several years. It often happened that when I was typing something, especially on WhatsApp, and received a notification while typing, the sound of subsequent keystrokes would become extremely loud until I activated silent mode and deactivated it again. This sound hasn't worked correctly for many years. And I like having it enabled. It's a shame the haptic vibration consumes a bit more battery; otherwise, I would just leave it on instead of the sound.
