My mac is hacked! I'm getting illegal ads inserted in websites like Google News. What should I do?
Download and run Malware Bytes
Stop visiting porn sites
Not hacked, just some malware as mentioned. Do the above and you will be fine.
Proper porn sites and even many improper ones don't have any malware, as they want their customers to return and not stay away.
It is like saying to stay away from all software download sites because CNET is ****.
"Proper porn" sites, as you put it also charge for access... the malware generally comes from the free sites hoping to cash in on drive-bys... trading porn for access to your computer and your life...
It's likely just adware. As suggested, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac should find it. Alternatively, EtreCheck should find it too.
There are many free sites who don't infect you with malware or want its own player, but since porn probably makes up 99% of the internet, there will be dozens of dozens of dozens of porn sites who do what you describe.
You seem to know an awful lot about online porn...
Not enough. Not enough. But that 99% number is 100%.
