I would get a can of canned air also and turn upside down and blow it out to get any bulk amount of water reduced down some that maybe sitting in a area. May prevent some rust or corrosion.

Get a whole crapload of dry rice and put the mbp in a bag filled with it. Leave it for at least a couple of days. The dried rice is unsurpassed at soaking up moisture, and the kernals are too large to get into the electronics.

Yeah, that's a whole lot of rice, but it's cheaper than a new rig.

I agree with the other posters. Two weeks ago I made the fatal mistake of knocking an entire cup of tea with milk and sugar all over my late 2006 MacBook pro.

Instead of turning it off and removing the battery I tipped the MacBook on it's side whereby copius amounts of hot tea poured out of every single port. I then plugged it back in and tried turning it on. Suffice to say the guts of my mac were a gonna.

Thankfully I back up all my data every night onto external HDs

My home insurance covers accidental damage and in two days my new unibody 15 inch macbook pro is being delivered. I have bought an iskin and intend to never drink around my machine ever again.

I do hope you can salvage your mac , home insurance really is a good idea when we have such expensive electronics.

Hey guys i am on the macbook pro it works lol!!!! even the keyboard
thanks guys for the support

Glad to hear that worked. But if it happens again unplug the battery and power cord immediately, put in a sealed container and cover it with dried rice. Let it sit a minimum of three or four days.

If that happened while at your desk, consider getting a laptop stand with external keyboard and mouse. Besides being more erognomic, it reduces the chance than a stray splash of water (or, in my case, coffee) will wipe out your machine. I'd risk a keyboard any day over a laptop.

Again, glad to hear you lucked out.

Agreed if you have this happen again with your MacBook Pro unscrew the bottom and take the battery out or take as many part off it as you can. and leave it off and use all the suggestions although I would change out the rice as it absorbs moisture. I keep all the silica bags from everything that I get and keep them in case of things like this happening.
