I'm telling you it works for me with the EFI password from OS X using the OS X admin password. It's the standard EFI reset tool from Apple that came with the Lion betas. Can't post a video now, the tools at work and it's the weekend. There are other tools that allow this as well. Mostly Apple service tools used in Apple Stores. They do use OS X to reset the password using the local Netboot image's admin password to do it. I've used those tools in the past as well. But it's just easier to use the Lion beta EFI password reset tool. I know exactly what I'm doing and it works without a problem.

it works only on some old models
it wont and never will work on anything after 2010 period.

That's the ram trick. I'm not at all discussing it. The way I use it does work on post 2010 machines.

dude come on. did i say anything about ram trick??
LEt me be more specific
your method wont work on 2010 macbook air and and all 2011 macbooks and iMacs
thats when they changed everything

all right Guys anything recommend for me to remove the password ?!!!!

Take it to the Apple Store with proof of ownership and they will remove it for you.

The reset EFI password using the Lion beta EFI password tool using local admin password does work on post-2010 machines. That's mostly what I have to use it on almost weekly at work.

facepalm
heres what we are going to do
you do that thing and post a video
and we will tell you where you are wrong
really its just be easier this way then explaining it all to you when you can actually google it and see that you are so wrong! but whatever

I am not wrong about using the local admin account about removing the EFI password. I know which is which and you can't become an Apple tech without knowing the difference. After doing more testing, it would appear that only the Lion beta's EFI password tool allows this. Go give it a try.

I made the same suggestion in an earlier post and Intell explained the "tool" was at work and he could not post a video since it was the weekend. Not sure what is stopping him from posting the video now (Thursday)? Still waiting.

The tool is the standard EFI reset tool included with the Lion betas. No need for quotes. I don't need to do videos to prove what I know and that it works. If you don't believe me, your loss.

and now your just trolling :)
the funny part is not telling where you are wrong until you will fail at actual process being so strongly convinced that it ACTually works!

Not my fault you're too lazy to download a Lion beta and try it yourself. It does work and I do it weekly because my coworkers don't know how to follow proper password protocols. My guess is that it's a bug in the EFI reset tool Apple designed for Lion. But it only works if it is copied and ran from a locally installed 10.7+ OS. Probably because the Lion installation media has a null password. The Lion GM or newer doesn't have this bug. Neither does any of the older EFI password tools.

Stolen laptop, don't even bother helping this cretin remove the password.

thank u so much for saying that but we don't need ur help
those guys are trying to help me and u are trying to do what get out this pleases it's not ur business

ok so im going to state the obvious here just for the fun now)
now pay attention!because the question IS!
How are you going to run this tool if when you are locked(aka icloud pin lock or icloud efi lock or just efi lock) if whenever you will try to altb_oot or recovery_boot or internet_rec_boot it will give you nothing but the padlock screen?:D
please enlighten me!!!
