My Media Cover Art (in Catalina)

You can see that apple is really dismissing everyone with Local iTunes libraries. Our days are numbered I have like 20TB worth of media I might have to make the jump to Plex

You nailed it. I have about 18TBs I keep on a dedicated Mac Mini as a media server and Catalina is so bad with my personal content, I rolled back to Mojave and just held there until this week. I get that Apple wants to see content through their store, but their treatment on my library has been so dismissive.

That said, I started with Plex about 2 years ago and run Plex and Apple iTunes/AppleTV concurrently. Plex is AMAZING with your own content. The only issue I have is it uses the web more than I's like (its server interface is essentially a website even thought he viewer and server itself are local apps).Also, Plex has the ability for me to view my content remotely, which I love, but brings in other bandwidth issues. Still, it is awesome.

Yeah, absolutely love Plex. Their suggested cover art usually matches what I have, minus the specific media labels -blu-ray, 4K, etc.). I just replace it with art including the media type which I've downloaded from Amazon where it was purchased.

How do I change the thumbnail for a whole TV Show? For example, I have Veep season 1 loaded in (appleTV app on Catalina) but if I right click on the show and do change artwork it changes the artwork for all 8 episodes of season 1 as well as the main show thumbnail. I want to keep the season 1 specific thumbnail art on each episode file but have different cover art for the thumbnail that represents the whole series. Does that make sense? Is there a way to do that?

I have never been able to figure this out. Would love to have each episode display a pic from it instead of the artwork but I have no idea how Apple has meta tagged it. All the software I’ve used changed the artwork for the show placeholder as well as the episode.

It is refreshing to find some of my people who do custom artwork for physical media! I have a questions maybe some of you have solved. In changing artwork for tv shows, I find that the individual shows art changes to my images, but the "home" image on the app (the most important one) sticks to the official art - has anyone figured out how to change that?

Also, I would be super interested in trading/ sharing/ seeing other OCD folk' art! It is a great creative outlet for me and I'd love to see yours.
