I have just found out my mom washed my 2nd gen 4gb green ipod nano (after thoughtfully collecting my clothes off my floor in my room). Its not turning on. Should I plug it into itunes? What should I do??
Has anybody had any similar experiences?![]()

Chill! It's not as bad as it sounds. Whatever you do, don't plug it in!
When electronics get wet, they often go dead as there is no contact between the battery and the electronics. Plugging it in now guarantees that you'll fry something.
After reading this forum I put my nano into a plastic bag with rice and let it sit for 3 weeks (it went through the wash and dry cycle). I just tried syncing and nothing. I plugged it into the charger and nothing.
Any other ideas?

Time for a new one. It's dead.
My apple earplugs went into the washer and dryer and still worked afterwards.
start-up screen and then showed the main menu once i pressed the center button. it went back to the apple
screen not even 3 seconds after that and has been stuck ever since. i cant shut it off and have to wait for the battery to completely drain if i want to do so. ive tried plugging it in to the charger many times with the same result and am currently waiting for it to fully charge in the hope that it will work then. Any suggestions on alternative actions to take?
