iPod My Nano just went through the washing machine

Has anybody had any similar experiences?
I did the same thing a few weeks back and even had it banging around in the dryer till I discovered it when getting my cloths out of the dryer. It would not turn on till I connected it to a charger (the water had immediately shorted / discharged the battery) but even then it was not working correctly. I ended up heating it up with a hair dryer multiple times to try to get the water out of it. After the first few times heating it, it developed more and more problems till it stopped working completely. I then let it sit for a day before connecting it to a charger and found that it was working properly again. The water between the glass screen and the LCD took about 3-4 days before drying up.
Note - I actually think that the iPod going through the dryer helped remove much of the water although I would not recommend it

Not true. I would highly recommend not plugging your iPod in but it doesn't guarantee that you will fry anything (but don't be surprised if something does fry).
plug it into the wall socket first with a power pack with a surge protector. i'd rather lose a charger than a computer...
oh! wet electronics?? try rice. sounds odd i know, but it absorbs water and everybody's got some in the pantry somewhere. put it in there, leave it for a few days somewhere warm and it might help...

If it was in rice for 3 weeks and it still doesn't work i think its time to buy a new ipod.

Time for a new one. It's dead.
Since this was posted three years ago, it should be dried out completely by now. Maybe it works.

i have done the same thing with my lime green nano. not my proudest moment. Anyway, dont plug it into anything! Set it out and let it be for about two days. with my experence this worked. BUT now it only works if it is pluged into somthing like a (computer, car charger, ext). if you still have a worenty on it go to the apple store or somewhere like that and ask for a new one. If not, go to the apple store and ask for a 10% discount towred another one and recicle you old, broken one.

Mine recently went through the washer and i let it sit for about 2 weeks. when i plugged it into the charger it did the apple
start-up screen and then showed the main menu once i pressed the center button. it went back to the apple screen not even 3 seconds after that and has been stuck ever since. i cant shut it off and have to wait for the battery to completely drain if i want to do so. ive tried plugging it in to the charger many times with the same result and am currently waiting for it to fully charge in the hope that it will work then. Any suggestions on alternative actions to take?
