My BruceX test was rending in 33 seconds (and I ran it 3 times in a row), and I know the ai guys aren't the most technical of people so their results are probably skewed since they probably enabled all the background processes for when you get a new computer (iCloud, photos, spotlight). That's over 30% faster. The problem with all these reviewers, besides being kind of dumb, is, they only make youtube videos, there's no value in what they do other than pandering to people who don't need any performance upgrades, therefore they only give benchmarks for 1 industry, youtube.
A 5 to 10 minute youtube video will spend more time being shot, and edited than rendering, honestly when you put 5 to 10 hours into making a video who gives a crap if it takes 30 minutes to render, stick with your maxed out 2015. If you need high speed rendering while on the go you'll buy a new MacBook Pro and not even think about these reviews. For the rest of us who use our machines for engineering and sciencey stuff, we're not basing our purchasing on a poorly executed 4K bench mark as it's not part of our workflow. I think a bit of critical thinking helps in these situations, and basing any purchases off of youtuber's recommendations is a poor decision and more than likely indicates the machine wasn't needed in the first place. If you're sitting there watching all the reviews wondering if it's worth it to upgrade, then I would think there'a not enough of bottleneck in your current set up for it to matter.
