As others have mentioned, there's really not much of a difference indoors but outdoors is quite a different story. Series 6 on left and Series 5 on right.

It’s amazing to see the difference how much that would impact the visibility with the watch in natural sunlight with Gen 2 of AOD, and I think that was one main frustrations with AOD on the S5, but that was something that was requested improve, I’m glad to see Apple made that tweak where it needed to be.

I really don't see any difference on mine. I see it in your photos but when I'm outside it looks the same as my S5.

Have you tried looking at them outside side by side? To me it's a huge difference...the photos don't exaggerate.

The best thing about comparing the 5 to the 6 is that probably for the first time. I don't need or want to upgrade from the previous model. Don't get me wrong its nice but a slightly brighter screen outside? eh, a no for me.

There are a variety of other changes / improvements such a 5GHz wifi, U1 chip (benefits TBD), yada yada yada. Point being only that brighter AOD in sunlight isn't the only change.

In sum they're still an incremental upgrade, as have been the prior updates, and may not be worth it to many S5 owners simply from a feature standpoint.

I’ve said it Many times over, I don’t think Apple expects any S5 owners to upgrade to the S6, as a matter fact, it probably be rather foolish unless you were upgrading to a new casing option from aluminum to titanium for example. But otherwise, your point about the ‘brighter display‘, there’s nothing more inconvenient when you can’t read your Apple Watch display in natural sunlight, but with the new ‘tweaked increased brightness‘ outside makes a difference, it certainly enhances the experience with the Apple Watch, especially when you can’t see the display in certain Lighting conditions.

I think I'll wait until next year to upgrade my S4, when I expect we'll see a bigger difference. I mean, I started with an S0, and waited until S4 to upgrade, so I think S4->S7 is about right :)

But the increased outdoor brightness is compelling... The reason I didn't get S5 is because it was too dim for me to read in direct light when "always on."

The battery life is pretty dramatically different there... judging by the step count, you put them both on your wrist at ~ the same time. Do you think the 28% difference in battery life is based on the slightly larger battery (no force touch component) and general battery health?

True. As someone who doesn't yet own an Apple Watch and is considering the S5 for $300 or the S6 for $400, this definitely tips the scale to the S6.
