I hope they change it to 4 icons per row. I know you can add more icons in a folder but it will mess up the order of my apps with only 3 per row. Hope they change it by the final.

I won't post links showing Apple's obsession to detail, but we all know it's there... or was.

Certain details such as this catch the eye of people that have been trained to see them. Others may find them inconsequential, but when inconsistencies start adding up it can become a mess.

Anyway, I quickly repositioned the icons within a folder to be evenly spaced. Yes it's subtle and my 70 year old father certainly wouldn't notice, but for those that do, I would think they would appreciate it.

Even looking at them side-by-side and magnified, I can't tell the difference. Sorry.

No need to be sorry. I understand not everyone can see or cares about this stuff.

But look at the horizontal spacing. The distance from the left edge of the contacts icon to the folder border and then compare it to the right edge of that icon to the calculator icon. The distance should be the same but currently they are not.

I believe you. :) Indeed, I'm impressed that you're able to notice it with the naked eye, I really am. Things like that bug me, too, when I'm able to perceive them, so for your sake (and for all the others who perceive the current imbalance), I hope Apple fixes it.

Thanks. Sometimes I wish I didn't see this type of stuff.

I'm that guy that needs to straighten wall art in someone else's house. ;)

This is great news. When people start arguing which variety of identical folder they prefer, then iOS 7 must have no real issues left to discuss.

Yes. I did say that in the first line of the first post. It's good that iO7 is working nicely now!

I think it is all on purpose, to give more of a layered effect, to make it appear the folder is a bit further back than the icons. ...anyone else notice that when you open the folder, the background zooms just a bit too?

Also, each of you that have posted pics, how were you holding the phone when you took it?

...(on home screen), not only does the background photo move when you move the phone (iPhone 5 at least), but, anyone else notice that the icons move as well? They shift a bit, if you don't see it, fix your eyes on the dots above the dock, move your phone up and down and then you will see the spacing between things change.

...Also, when you go to spotlight, it doesn't cut anything off, but moves the icons down below the search field. If you have maps going, it moves the icons down (squeezes them) so the bar at top doesn't cut anything off...same with, when I quit Shazam, it turns red up top for a sec...doesn't cut off top icons, but they are shifted down and the space between rows is squeezed, when the red thing goes away, it all goes back up.

...it's same as with messages chat bubbles, there is a subtle movement factor that effects everything...I think it's pretty nifty.

I have noticed that. I think it's really cool!

I noticed this right away too, but after watching the WWDC video behind their decisions I understood. It's all for consistency, although I do see the problem with spacing.

Either way, I do actually prefer the more rounded edge.
