Nieval you are helping/encouraging someone to do an unethical thing. You are as bad as someone doing the actual scamming. Listen I'm not the moral police nor do I really care, but in the end the company will always pass the loss to the consumer. Companies always pass the taxes, loss by theft, ect. ultimately to us.

As far as companies sticking it to us. Many of them do and it isn't right. Nor is cheating companies out of their money right either.

Karma is a B.

I honestly didn't think of it like that, i evened asked a couple of workers there and they said that i could keep it, but you might have a point when you phrase it like that.
How bout this then, i was planning to take the software back with me and tell them to take them back seeing as i haven't opened them yet and will be returning the laptop. If they take it back cool, if they don't then its alright to keep them.

Then it would be alright to keep it IMO. I didn't mean to attack you, but it just pisses me off when people try to scam others. I wish everyone was above that. Like I said, you scam someone today, you will pay for it later.

Dude i appreciate and respect your input. Everyone is free to do what they want but listening to others gives you a perspective you may not have seen.
Cheers.

Well, I didn't get a chance to go today. I'm sorry. But i should be able to go tomorrow and i'll post whatever happens when i get back. Again, sorry, i know it'll be the last day and abit tight.

If you try to return opened software from Best Buy that came free with the computer, they will charge you full price for it. Or at least that is the only thing that would make sense. It's only "free" with the purchase of a computer. SO, if you return a computer, that ix nays the purchase, thus software is no longer free.

Don't scam the system.

How about this instead: BestBuy are offering free MobileMe and iWork 08 with any Apple computer purchase in the form of an instant $180 cash back. According to the apple employee there you're free to return the purchase anytime within the 14 day return period and still get to keep the software seeing as "they don't accept opened software".
I had originally planned to do the same thing as you and pay the stocking fee, but ethically couldn't bring myself to open the software. Should i return the laptop im going to give back the software too or just pay for it.

wtf where is this offer at? I just tried to get 100 dollars back at best buy because of the 100d ollars difference at apple store, but they told me no cuz theres no apple stores near where i live
