I'm reminded that the mainstream consumer do not know how to take a picture worth anything. Just look at all of those example shots of bad Touch LCDs.. LOL

The images of the scratches do nothing. Sorry can't help ya there.

seriously though, I'm so angry at apple for crippling the iTouch so much (notes, mail program etc.) surely it can't be THAT expensive for whatever coating the iPhone has on its glass.

hey guys, just a heads up, yesterday i have my touch in my pocket with my phone that had a case one it(which has some metal thing to secure my phone) and next thing you know i have a bunch of scratches on the SCREEN i could not believe it i thought it was un scratch able. i call apple about the screen black issue and im getting a replacement so i am too worried about this one. i already ordered an invisible shield so im ok, but i just wanted to let y'all know about it.

i took pics but there are on my home computer so ill post them tonight. i know the rule is no pic then it didnt happen so ill prove it tonight. i have not heard of this from anyone which is weird. And when i mean scratches, i mean pretty deep. just a heads up guys.

OK LET ME EXPLAIN THIS AGAIN

you pay apple 30 bucks a month (roughly) for the use of that iphone, so while the hardware its self is about the same price as the itouch, apple is making a buttload more money on the iphone because shared plan rate with AT&T

Unlucky for you. The worst thing to have in your pocket is probably a hotel room access card. I had one in my pocket as well as my 5th gen iPod, it made the surface of the back feel really strange. Have no idea why it would do that?

There are all kinds of reports on all the different message boards on how shocked people are because their iPhone or Touch screens are scratched. What do you expect? It's only glass. it's not super glass just because it's on an iPhone/Touch. If you put it in your pocket with keys and change, it will get scratched. Just because there was a so called video of an iPhone in a plastic bag with some keys and there were hardly any scratched if any doesn't mean it can't scratch. People have dropped their phones only a foot or so and the glass has cracked. It IS only glass after all.

My iPhone has no scratches after all this time and it has no screen protector. Don't need it, but it goes in my pocket all alone.

they just need to be good enough to see the scratches. it does scratch but when you turn it on you cant tell

since apples sending u a new one why not do some extra scratch testing on it just to see what objects have the biggest impact

pics are better, but they would be better still if you manually focused, so the camera didn't focus on the reflection.
